really enjoyed this book Set mainly in Paris in Spring its a love story that is gentle and thoughtful set against the wonderful place that is VersaillesNo bad language or steamy sex A good story I love Lucy Coleman a an author This author just never disappoints in the writing of a story The detailing of the places the characters always make me feel that I am within the pagesMainly set in France it follows a young lady following to a certain extent in her Grandmothers footstepsIf you want to know then buy this book sit and let yourself get lost within the pages of this beautifully written book I read to pageso have it a good go Unfortunately i could not get into it Firstly there were pages of description on the house the protagonist was renting then boring meetings and pages of detail about the history if the Palace of Versa i just wanted a light hearted read not a history lesson Having previously read a book by this author which I enjoyed i thought I'd try another only to be very disappointed dpt I've read few of Lucy's books but I have to be honest I was less keen on this one I persevered but I felt like I wasted my time I haven't been to Versailles and I'm not interested in horticulture and I felt there was too much detail about both This is my first introduction to the work of Lucy Coleman and I really enjoyed this gentle romance set in Versailles France I have to admit I was initially drawn to this story because of Versailles I visited the Palace and Gardens back in the Autumn last year and the wondrous sight that I was met with left me mesmerised So I was intrigued to read a novel about a historical place that is so iconic and also a place that I've recently visited I've included one of my favourite photos I took from my visit just to give you a small insight into the beauty of VersaillesYou don't need to have visited Versailles prior to reading this novel as the words from the author take you on a detailed spectacular journey Although after reading this novel I think you will want to visit this beautiful property and gardensA Springtime to Remember is Lexie's story who is involved in a new TV production of a documentary on the gardens of Versailles Lexie also has a vested personal interest in the gardens as her late grandmother spent a year working on the gardens prior to her returning home in the UK to marry Lexie's grandfather There is mystery surrounding this year that Grandma Vivian spent in France and Lexie is hoping to unearth a little of her past with the help of some old diaries written by her grandmotherLexie also finds herself charmed by a young man who is hired as the Interpreter for the show he too has a vested interested as his late
grandfather was heavily involved in the gardens Did Lexie and Ronan's grandparents ever meet Will the past reveal any secrets that have been kept hidden for overyears Will these secrets leave any unanswered uestionsVersailles once again dazzled me with it's beauty and history and the author Lucy Coleman cleverly blended fact with fiction with this lovely romance Je nai pas vraiment aimé ce roman Jai souvent eu limpression de lire une brochure sur la visite du château et des jardins de Versailles ue je connais particulièrement bien ayant souvent servi de guide dans ces lieux à des parents et amis de visite à Paris uant à lintrigue elle ne présente pas un grand suspens étant donné ue très vite on devine ce ui sest passé avec la grand mère de Lexie pendant son séjour à Versailles Jai donc trouvé ue ce récit traînait en longueur et javais hâte de le finir From the bestselling author of Summer in ProvenceWonderfully escapist romantic and heart warming Lucy Colemans stories are the perfect tonic when life is a little grey Holly Martin Let Lucy Coleman transport you to glorious sun drenched France for the perfect feel good readParis and the Palace of Versailles have always meant a lot to TV producer Lexie Her grandma Viv spent a year there but her adventures and memories were never discussed and Lexie has long wondered why they were a family secretWhen work presents the perfect excuse to spend Springtime in Versailles Lexie delves into Vivs old diaries and scrapbooks and with the help of handsome interpreter Ronan she is soon learningabout the charactersthat tend to the magnificent gardens now and in the pastIn amongst the beauty and splendour of the French countryside a story of lost love rivalry and tragedy unfolds Can Lexie and Ronan right the wrongs of the past and will France play its tricks on them both before Lexie has to go home Will this truly be a Springtime to RememberGet swept away with this perfect feel good love story Just right for fans of Holly Martin Sue Moorcroft and Heidi SwainWhat readers are saying about A Springtime to RememberLucy Coleman writes wonderfully escapist romantic and heart warming stories that transport you far away from the every day grind Beautifully written comforting and utterly uplifting Lucy Colemans stories are the perfect tonic when life is a little grey Holly Martin bestselling author of The Gift of HappinessI loved this book from start to finish and I could not put it down It is the perfect choice for this time of year as it will add the sunshine even to the dullest of daysUplifting funny romantic and charmingThe perfect escapist readWhats not to loveA uniue charming premise for a story with a wonderfully romantic location to fall in love withThis story is about love hope happiness fairytale ending and happy ever afters I loved itA brilliant read which I would definitely recommend to other readers I will definitely be readingof Lucys work in the future
