really wanted to read this book, but I delayed getting it because of the title World's Collide which appears to be corrected now, at least on Goodreads.
It didn't make sense to me, I finally read it and was dismayed by the mechanical errors that really detracted from the story for me, There were just too many of them I hope they have been corrected since the cover appears to be, My other complaint is the end of the story, It fell flat and it didn't seem like much was resolved, It's also really short for theprice, So that's the bad.
Here's the good: Rune is a pack leader of shapeshifters, She defends her town from vampires, but the vampires are comprised of two factions, evil and not evil, Nara is the leader of the good vampires, There is some weird plot centering around her and her brother, They are both attracted to Rune and he's jealous that Rune appears to like Nara, not him, That creates the problem that all lesfic seems to have to have that tears our lovers apart, Events occur that lead to battles with the evil vamps and rescues and confrontations and so on, That part is entertaining.
I've read all of Drake's books and this is the one I least like, I could have lived with the errors if there was a more satisfying conclusion, A fifth year veterinary student at UWMadison, Rune Nqumayo was far from being your typical college student, The leader of a local pack of shape shifters, her life was a long string of sacrifices in the name of honor and duty.
Busting up a vampire party one night begins a chain reaction, tossing her deep into strange truths and a taste of forbidden love that will challenge everything she has ever known.
Will Rune follow the path she has walked all her life Or will she give into her heart and risk becoming an out cast among her own people This is the first book by this Author that I have read, I enjoyed the story very much and both main characters, just wish it had been a bit longer.
