Marie Ferrarella
amp Boon Romantic Suspense collection brings you dangerous liasions
They've both been working for the Tulsa PD for the last four years, but have mostly managed to avoid each other, Ten years earlier, when Ryan was still in the Marines, he broke off his relationship with her when he left on deployment, He told himself it was for her own good, so that she wasn't putting her life on hold for him, He has never found anyone else that made him feel the way she did, Susie had been devastated by the cold breakup letter that she received from him, She had been deeply in love with him and ready to wait for however long it took for him to come home, Since then she has been wary of trusting anyone else with her heart, Now, whenever they meet, both are careful to keep all interactions short and to the point,
I liked the way they joined forces to get at the truth about Greta's involvement, Susie knows that she could, possibly even should, turn work on this case over to another, But in spite of the way things ended for them, she still has feelings for Ryan and can see the way that this case is tearing him up, She is a voice of reason during the turmoil of seeing the evidence, and also a pillar of support, Ryan can't believe that Greta is involved, but the evidence is overwhelming, Having to bring her in for questioning and hold her like a criminal hurts him terribly, It also puts him at odds with his brothers, something that has been happening more often as the troubles on the ranch continue, I liked seeing how Susie's help keeps him grounded, and also gives him another viewpoint,
As they spend more time together, Ryan has to admit to himself that he had been an idiot to push Susie away all those years ago, The attraction is still there and growing stronger every day, but he's not so sure he deserves a second chance, Both Ryan and Susie look at their past actions and have to decide if they want to move forward together, A surprise revelation adds to Ryan's turmoil, but also makes him realize what he's wanted all along, I loved his stop on his way to visit Susie, and how it helps her see that he has changed, Their final scene was romantic and emotional, and ended with just a bit of humor,
The progression of the mystery of who is behind the attacks has been very good from the beginning, From the attack on Abra to the murder of the ranch hand, it has had a very personal feel to it, From the little hints that were dropped in previous books, I had a suspicion about who was behind it, But the story behind the identity was a twist I didn't expect, and I am looking forward to the next book to see how it all ends, Title: Second Chance Colton The Colton's Of Oklahoma

I loved the who mystery that surrounded the book, I loved that there was a bit of romance, and second chances between the two, Maybe even for Greta getting her second chance which I hope to see in the next book, I thought that the mystery person was someone unexpected even if I was kind of guessing who it could be I wasn't expecting to be right, If your wondering go check this book out, This book was very well written and I enjoyed every minute reading this book, It's fast paced with many things going on and overall a great book,
This is theth book in The Coltons of Oklahoma series, I've read each of the books, and have enjoyed them all, Each book has stared one of the siblings, Ryan Colton is the Police detective of the family, It was nice that he got his own book, He has been trying to figure out everything that has been happening to his family, and solve the crimes that has been committed on his family ranch, It all started in book one when his mother was attacked in her bedroom, The suspense, and action has not let up throughout the series,
This book also has romance, Years ago Ryan thought he was doing the right thing, when he broke up with Susie before he deployed to a combat zone, He didn't want Susie to have to wait for him to get back, He surly didn't want to break her heart if he never made it back, Now the two have to work together, and the attraction is still there, There is a possibility that Greta, Ryan's sister is being framed for murdered, Both Ryan, and Susie works for the police department, They can't let personal feelings get in the way, when it comes to finding the real killer,
Throughout the investigation Ryan knows Susie is his one true love, Can the two have a second chance at happiness
Not the best book of the series
I have never written a review of a book before, but I had to for this one.
This was my least favorite book of this series, I have yet to read the final book, but hopefully it will be much better, When I initially saw the series, I did not realize that they were all by different authors, I suppose I just did not like this authors style, The book was bland with absolutely no action or 'romance' scenes like the other books, She would hop from one person's point of view to the next, It was not like in the other books where themain characters had different sections for their points of view, In this book they were just random switches and they weren't just themain characters views, I guess I had to read this to know what would be going on in the last book, but if this was a stand alone book I would have been VERY disappointed.
"Strong storytelling and sizzling chemistry between Ryan and Susie will keep readers turning the pages" RT Book s,stars,
Miniseries: sitelinkThe Coltons of Oklahoma I have enjoyed this series since the beginning, but I have to say, I think it is getting better with each installment, as the plot thickens.
Some very odd events have been happening at the ranch, everyone has been mentioning them, but no one thought twice about them, until actual crimes were committed,
Ryan can't believe what the crime scene investigators are telling him, that the evidence leads them to his sister, Greta, It just doesn't make sense, The suspense is high, the evidence is clear, and as it seems that Greta has no alibi for the time of the crimes, the only thing Ryan can do, is to arrest his own sister.
The investigator working on the case, Susie, is the one Ryan has a history with, an old history, but somehow it seems very fresh even now,
As the secrets of the family are unfolding, the evidence saying one thing, and the heart and mind another, Ryan is in a whirlwind of his life, When you add to that

the girl he never forgot, the one he still loves, and the secret from their past relationship coming to light, Ryan don't know anymore what to think or do.
I inhaled this story in one sitting, It just pulled me in and took over, I loved the intensity of the investigation, the tension between the old lovers, and as all the secrets are revealed, it suddenly starts to make more sense, all around,
This series has had a strong allure from the start, and the attack on the mother has been going investigation through the series, that now finally starts to have more insights into it.
I can hardly wait for the next installment, to see how it all will come to end!
A series filled with charismatic characters, intense suspense, crimes that baffle the police as well as the family, and the happily ever after kind of romance, that melts your heart
