Pick Up Fae's Captive (Fae's Captive, #1) Curated By Lily Archer Provided As Digital
enjoyable but after the initial rush fades and I had some time to think about it I'm lowering my rating significantly,
To be honest this wasn't what I expected at all, I thought it will be more of a smut fest with very little plot, And while the plot is nothing to write home about Fae's Captive had more of that than the title or the cover would have suggested.
Personally I don't think it should have been a separate novel as it's way too short, Add the cliffhanger and it only annoys the reader, On the other hand it was captivating enough for me to pick up the second book,
This is the first fantasy book I read, I begin by saying that it has been an entertaining read, with humor, suspense and a lot of magic, Leander is a lovely alpha fae and very protector, He is the king of the winter kingdom, So far only this kingdom and the summer kingdom have been mentioned, Which makes me think that there will be more kingdoms related to realworld stations in the next books, World where Taylor lives.
Taylor is a college student with a slightly strange roommate, Cecile, It seems that her came into her life with a purpose she served,
One day Taylor gets up in a world completely different and that is when her adventure begins,
I loved the primary and secondary characters, The plot is good, although it needed a description or construction of the most developed fae world, Even so, I enjoyed it and kept my interest to continue the whole story, that feel when your roommate drugs you and you wake up in the fae realm and some random winter king is calling you his mate but you gotta get home to take your finals.

Having just finished a novella in a series that's exclusively standalone novellas I wasn't holding out much hope for this book considering this is a novellalength novel.
I was so surprised by how much I ended up liking this though, I loved the amount of world build and plot development in this for a novella,
For being thrown in a whole other world Taylor has some spunk to her, Though she does get hit and overall hurt quite a few times there are times when she succeeds in fighting back, I'm really interested in seeing what kind of future she has in this new world,
Leander is something, I'll give him that! He's a big brute of a guy but he saves Taylor and treats her relatively well.
He's not pushy or overbearing, He's trying to have her adjust to him and their situation and that was sweet and respectful of him,
I knew walking into this book that it was going to end in a cliffhanger, From the reviews I've read for future books in this series, it's a tactic the author uses to string the reader along, I can't say I loved it because I didn't, The worst part was that it ended midfight, That's the worst type of cliffhanger, For now, I'll continue on this series but I would appreciate it if these cliffhangers went away,
My Favorite Quote:
"I'm not a queen, I don't even feel like an adult half the time, " Fae's Captive by Lily Archer is book One in the Fae's Captive Series, This starts the story of Taylor and Leander, This story starts with Taylor in the modern time trying to put herself through college, Taylor has a roommate named Cecile who is a nightmare, but nothing she done so far compares to what she has now done Cecile has drugged her and Taylor has woke in a different realm where there are master, slaves and different Faes.
Taylor is in a dungeon with a women named Lenetia who tells her where she is and what id going on, But Taylor can't think this is real until her 'master' Lord Tyrios gives her a rough wake up call, Now Taylor is being called a Changeling, Leander is the King of the Fae's and awaits is mate but no fae has met there mate in aboutyears after a curse of sorts happens.
When he is going to secure a deal he starts to notice a wonderful smell that he can't place until he meets Taylor.
Leander knows immediately that she is his mate, But Taylor who is now scared of the realm is terrified of him especially after seeing is brutal side in action,
WOW this is such a great start to their story, I could not put it down and would not put it down, I am hurrying to the next book to see what is going on next, Loved it! The writing was sooo cringey,
"I dont belong here, I'm in college. I have classes. And exams. And bills to pay. And Friends reruns to watch, And a roommate to strangle, " our heroine about to be abducted,
relatable shesjustlikeme
The heroine was a huge dope and the writing was immature, Let's just say I that the only way I would have enjoyed this was if I wasyears old, sigh Add this to the DNF pile,
I just want
to say that I really loved this story, Lily archer is an amazing writer that draws you in her story on the first page, I cant wait to read more books by this author Wow
I did not expect that! Given how short this book is I one, didnt expect to get so engaged and two, didnt think there would be much to the characters at this point.
And man I was wrong! Not only is the story quick paced enough to keep it entertaining but its giving us just enough setting and world to keep us feeling like we know enough, but keep the mystery alive to what is going on in the greater world.
With the fuel POV we are gifted with a Fae who can tell use important things and also a human who needs to know as much as we do.
So it keeps the info flowing without being infodumpy, And that ending!! Obviously continuing on to the next one, Fae
,
Okay so we have another naïve virginal h/mate trope going on here and a prophecy, If Taylor turns out to be a chosen one, well have hit the trifecta!
But so far I do like the story.
We have Taylor, a hard working college student, who was tricked and switched by her fae roommate to become a changeling slave in the fae realms only to then find herself mated to the king of the winter court.
Im interested in seeing all of the fae mythology, and monsters that the author comes up withalso I'm curious on how the story develops with the mountain king.
/I thought this was a series of novellas, but its more like one book split into multiple parts The first four follow the same couple, and from what I can tell book two will start off right where book one ended.
Anyone expecting a short and sweet novella about a fae finding his human mate, this is NOT it, This has been a sloooow burn not even a kiss in the first book with a cliff hanger stretched out across multiplepage books/novellas Im not really sure how to categorize it, as I dont think it fits the definition of either, but its essentially just one book published in four parts is there a word for that
ANYWAYS, I will be continuing with the story because it was entertaining enough and Im curious to see where the story will go from here.
The love interest, Leander, is just my type burly, dark haired, scarred, ruthless, . and that alone is enough to keep my interest through book two lol, Verdict is still out on Taylor because shes kind of annoying me with her naivety and wariness, but homegirl wasss just thrown into a new realm so Ill give her the benefit of the doubt.
. for now. Im mostly just annoyed I was bamboozled into a four bookpage story when I thought I was getting a novella, but hey, thats on me for not looking into it more before I started Im rolling with it and diving right into the next one stay tuned! this was.
. . something
i think the author really should have just made this serial/novella series into one novel, little happens in thesepages and there's no sex so to categorize it as romance is a little misleading,
the writing was just okay, the characters were kind of bland caricatures, and overall i just wasn't invested in this story, it wasn't objectively bad but from an enjoyment standpoint this is just astar for me, This was a surprisingly good, but short, book, So whats it about
Taylor is a human girl who has an unfortunate college roommate, Cecile, After going out with Cecile to a party, Taylor feels odd and passes out, She thinks she was drugged, Turns out, Cecile was a fae, and sent her to the fae realm as a changeling,
Leander is the king of the winter fae, in the summer realm for negotiations, He finds his fated mate in the dungeons and is determined to get her out safely, Unfortunately, she doesnt speak fae, and his changeling is passable at best,
So why did I like this story,
It has the fated mate trope, but only on Leanders side, Taylor has a backbone and wont let his feelings for her interfere with her plan, which is to go home,
I liked the idea of a parallel universe with the fae realm, It was clever.
I am a sucker for books with a language barrier, And Taylor gets a lot of culture shock in the fae realm,
It has a lot of story for apage novel, It ends on a cliffhanger, but book two is already out, Its hard to say since the whole series isnt complete, but I wish this was one long book instead of short stories,
If you like fae stories, this one is fun and on kindle unlimited, If you dont like cliffhangers, you may want to wait until the series is complete and read the box set,
Sprecher: Ella Storm, Stefan Kohlmann
Ich würde den Sprechern,Sterne geben.
Verlag: Grey Eagle Publications What an adventure! I can see this becoming another favourite series of mine!
I adore this story and the world of Fae.
Taylor is just an ordinary girl at Uni, She keeps to herself and works hard, It's a pity her room mate doesn't have the same work ethic always out partying and making her life a misery, Until one night when Cecile convinces Taylor to be her driver while she goes out partying, That was when everything changed and she discovered the world of Fae,
A world where witches and strange creatures roam, and magic is everywhere, A world where few speak her language, and everywhere she turns, someone wants to harm her, A world where a Fae king takes her under his wing, claiming her as his own, A Fae king who has the body of a God,
Talk about action packed! This story is filled with drama and lust, and a little something to keep you wanting more.
I, for one, can't wait for the next installment! Ignoring the overly cheesy cover, that was actually pretty good! My only complaint is that it was kinda short, but other than that I absolutely loved the characters! Jumping right into the second book since I need to know what happens next
/Interesting enough.
.
Fae's Captive is the first of many books within the Fae's Captive series, All books seem rather short at first glance so I was intrigued enough to see if these will help me reach my reading goal.
That being said, I had zero hesitations when it came to jumping into this book, Even though I have a ton of BR books that I'm pushing back because of it, Eh, so many books and so little time guys,
Not going to lie, this book was super short, So short but it was packed with a little teeny tiny punch, There was like zero romance but we did find out that a kind of the winter kingdom found his mate, She is from Earth and has no idea where she is or what the heck is happening to her life, One day she was studying for a test and the next she woke up in a strange ass world and ends up having a horrible master.
The cliffhanger ends with a kidnapping, More than predictable but eh, on to the next book, .
