Average Rating, rounded up tostars This is the best series ever!!!! Makes you believe in love and the struggles that sometimes happen and the strength of the heart to listen and move forward through the fear.
The stories in most anthologies are barely held together by a common thread, Sometimes I wonder what they have in common at all, But this one is different in that all three novellas take place inside the broader construct of a larger story, The premise is pulled from Julia Talbot's Bloodrose series, Though it will make
Get Cereus: Building (Cereus, #1) Formulated By Sean Michael Presented As Mobi
sense even if you haven't read those books, A new club, catering to supernaturals is opening, . . and each short story features characters who are working there,

"It's Elemental" is Talbot's offering, It features a Native American werewolf shifter named Chayton and his unlikely relationship with a demon named Kenny, Chayton is the strong, silent type, . . and he is working construction on the new property, Kenny is the interior designer, The story is fastmoving and very sexy, There's not a lot of emotion behind it, but it's quick and hot, Neither man expects expects overpowering attraction they feel for each other, but it's fun watching them surrender to their desires,

"The Third Course" is a shiftermenage short story by BA Tortuga, The sexual dynamic in this one was not my brand of kink, . . for two reasons. First and foremost, it's a twincest story, Secondly, it's a dom/sub relationship which is also not my thing, In a nutshell, twin chefs Marco and Stephan are werecats and lovers, Marco is the submissive/beta and Stephan "takes care of him, " Then alpha werewolf shifter Faelan comes along and tops them both, It helped me get through the incest thing to simply pretend the guys weren't really brothers while I read about them having sex with each other.
. . otherwise I just would have been too squicked out, There were sexy times and I like the way Tortuga writes her shifters, with their animal traits bleeding over into their human lives.
She took the same approach in Just Like Cats amp Dogs, which I liked better,

The last novella is "Smoke and Gold" by Sean Michael, This is the story of dragonshifter Daniel and the demon Zee, Daniel is the dragon who owns the property that the club is being built on, Zee is the head dominant, there to make sure all the "playrooms" are up to snuff, This story was basically the struggle of Zee trying to top Daniel, Again, the whole dom/sub thing is not a turnon for me, There is alot of back and forth banter about who is the child and who is the master there is a lot of spanking some sex a dash of magic and then a few whacks with the belt for good measure.

Overall, I liked the idea of pulling all the stories together under a common arc, The first story was the best in the bunch for me, . . it simply suited my tastes much better than the other two, But if D/s relationships and twincest rock your boat, you might like the other two stories more than I did.
It was all an interesting foray outside of my comfort zone, But I am hard pressed to figure out how to give it a rating,

copy provided by author Jonny, owner of Bloodrose, just received an interesting offer, He has a chance to expand his business, to build an extended stay play club onacres in the Cascade Mountains.
There is no time to waste, let the construction begin!

Its Elemental by Julia Talbot

Werewolf construction foreman Chayton just cant seem to understand his attraction to designer Kenneth.
Kenneth is completely annoying and Chaytons urge to choke him is immense, The problem is, he also desires him, in a dark passionate needy way, Kenneth is just as attracted to Chayton, Their obsession is amazing and together they make the earth move,

This is a perfect introduction to the story, Sex is fast and furious, passion is heated and heady, Chayton and Kenneth are polar opposites that come together beautifully, two strong men meant to be together, The reason for their attraction is beautifully told and enhanced the story wonderfully,

The Third Course by BA Tortuga

Stephan and Marco rule the kitchens at Cereus, Their word is law and final, Stephan is the Executive Chef and Marco is the Pastry Chef, Twin werecats that are inseparable and volatile at best are suddenly complete when Bar Manager Faelan shows up, Faelan, a seductively gorgeous werewolf, is thrown for a loop upon meeting the twins, He instantly wants them both and he set out to seduce them with his dominate and alluring ways, Now he just needs to discover if he is strong enough to handle his two ironwilled kitties,

The subject matter is extremely taboo, but written in a way that made you appreciate the beauty of it.
These two brothers are two halves of a whole, I dont believe either could survive without the other, The twins are like yen and yang, They need each other like air, Faelan is a beautiful dominate male, Able to laugh at himself, be strong when the boys need him to be and also be a tender lover, These three men are pure poetry together,

Smoke and Gold by Sean Michael

Zee, the big bad head dominate of Cereus and Daniel, the owner of the land that Cereus sits on literally collide.
Right from the beginning the chemistry is smokin, There are not too many couplings that are more dominate then a demon and a dragon, Both powerful beings are used to being on top of their lives and their sex partners, But someone will have to give to make this work, now which of the two men will be strong enough to release some of their control and submit

I was smiling from the getgo, rubbing my hands together in anticipation.
Zee and Daniel are two of the strongest personalities in the novel, To bring them together as a couple is genius and the story is a blast to read, Im not about to give a single clue, about who came out on top, Their relationship is the most enjoyable of the book, probably because you could just envision the constant combustion between the two men.
I adored them!

I felt that BDSM is used lightly in this book, Cereus is being built as a BDSM resort, It is an exclusive club for paranormals who wish to partake in erotic play for the body and the senses, Playrooms are mentioned but never used, due to the fact they are under construction, Light bondage, spankings, sensory games and D/s relationships are apparent and used during sexual encounters, but didnt overpower the story.

The three authors did a great job collaborating on the different tales, You understand that the stories are happening concurrently and I personally enjoyed have the other couples show up while reading, The book is sensually written and the strong foundations of the relationships are evident, I am looking forward to the continuation of this series,

Cereus: The Building is three delicious stories all woven together to make an incredible tapestry of erotic pleasures, The imagination soars at the possibilities of endless sexual delights and forbidden fantasies that await you at Cereus, Make your reservations today! I do like these types of "anthologies", We get to know all the people and see them from different aspects, But then we get to REALLY know a couple, a story at a time, Love the kitties and Faelon is so good for them, And dragons are my favorite "paranormal" or magic creature and Daniel and Zee are a wonderful couple, Love this book and it's going on "My Favorites" shelf, I sure hope this is the start of another great series,

st read Oct,
nd read May,This is set in the world of the Blood Rose club where several short stories have been set by Julia Talbot.
In this case, the original author has created a new resort location and then each author has written a story about a pairing within that world.
I thought it was well done and they all merged in a fairly common voice and characters would spill over from one story to the other.
The setup is that a dragon, Daniel, asks Jonny to build an exclusive resort for paranormal creatures, mostly to protect his own lair because other dragons steer clear from humans.

The first story is werewolf Chayton who is a carpenter on the construction who is driven mad by interior designer Kenny.
They are attracted but after sex Chayton pretty much accuses Kenny of being an incubus as he's a demon, so Kenny gets pissed.
Eventually Chayton pulls his head out of his ass after a visit to his brother and he's very thrilled with Kenny's horns and tail and allows him to be himself without hiding it.

The next story is twincest, Cat shifters Marco and Stephan are the pastry chef and regular chef who are always fighting, Bar manager Faelan is fascinated with them and things are going well until during their shift on the full moon Faelan loses his head and attacks Marco and he has to get back in their good graces.
These are typical twins, one naughty, one good, one more protective of the weaker more submissive brother, Nothing very different but they were cute,

The last one is dragon Daniel who sees BDSM master demon Zee, However Zee is all heman alpha and Daniel just basically laughs at him, although secretly he wants it, I loved how Daniel make Zee crazy because he didn't cower in front of him and would egg him on, Also Daniel's selfconsciousness about the fact he's rather small for a dragon was sweet, they were just a cute couple,

There will be more stories set at the resort as this story ends as they are just ready to open and lots of characters were dropped in who could have the potential for stories.
Like most "anthologies" some couples will appeal more than others, but in this case you actually get a bit longer stories for some than in the shorts.
Extreme Taboo Shelf This edition is no longer available,

What happens when a besieged and rather small dragon comes to a vampire and says, “I need your help.
” Or when that vampire comes to a werewolf and says, “I have a job for you, ” The vampire goes and builds a resort for things that go bump in the night, of course, Riding the wave of Julia Talbots Bloodrose series, the multiauthor Cereus: Building features paranormal romance from three of Torquere Press mostloved authors.
The stories move from vampire Jonnys city club to a new luxury getaway in the woods of the Pacific Northwest, where pleasure and pain are the name of the game.

Julia Talbots Its Elemental features construction contractor Chayton, a werewolf who thinks demon decorator Kenny is a little fussy, and a lot hot.
They argue about everything from feng shui to sex, Will they be able to resolve their differences The Third Course, by BA Tortuga tells the story of Marco and Stephan, werecats, brothers, and chefs who meet their match in headbartender Faelan, who just happens to be a growly, sexy Top.
Finally, Sean Michaels Smoke and Gold follows the head dominant of the club, Zee, whos dealing with trying to get his playrooms just so, and trying to figure out maddening dragon Daniel at the same time.
Who can resist loving a dragon,
