This book was fairly interesting based on the fact that it was predominantly for a male's interpretation, It helped a lot with understanding how tarot cards work and such, but was a bit difficult to follow at times due to specific wording.
I think the time period it was written in and the books that are about tarot now are very different, It wasn't a bad book, but I will definitely be reading a more recent book next time, Another boohiss. My veryst deck the RiderWaite, came packaged in a beginner set w this amp the other Eden Grey book, This was my very first book on Tarot I remember it fondly amp with much nostalgia, This is a perfect book for beginning readers! It's a much better introduction than the ponderous condescension of A, E. Waite. Eden Gray is an excellent first guide through the Mystery of Tarot, I have started to take an interest in tarot and the metaphysical, I came across this book in a charity store and was impressed with the easy quick explanation of the design and meaning/reverse meanings of the cards.
Eden Grey is straight to the point instead of the long waffle explanations for each card and how to place and read the cards.
I would recommend this for beginners that want an easy understanding and if they want to take it seriously then they can purchase another more advanced book.

copy on my shelf for awhile, it saw a lot of use in its past life, so I chose to make it my first experience with Tarot.
Ultimately, though its loaded with lovely black and white illustrations its a bit dull, And not to mention sparse, With the meatiest text amounting to metaphysical gobbledygook, Though I intend to study other books on the cards, this one gets a “meh” from me,
This was the book that launched a lifetime study of the Tarot, More recently published books delve into the multicultural and feminist symbolism in a way that a woman of Gray's time period would have missed.
While those other texts are essential for a full understanding of the deep and complex repository of symbolism and archetype that is the Tarot, I still find myself returning to Gray's work, and to the AlbanoWaite deck it accompanies.
