Rose Mcallister is on the run, well so to speak, She is trying to start a new life, She thought she found love but feels like an idiot instead which hurts more, Shes always been a good worker and always followed rules yet men are her weakness, Now in a new place she is determined to stay away from love especially from smoothtalkers like rodeo clown Bass Newcomb.
He is everything her mother said to stay away from in her life, Hes gorgeous, smoothtalking and makes her laugh all the time which is a rarity for her, She knows if she slips and succumbs to Basss charm it will be a nail to her coffin.
Love is for weak people but something about Bass makes her want it more than ever, Can she sacrifice her life and find love again Or will it kill her this time
Something is happening to Bass Newcomb and he only knows what it is.
Hes seen it take his mother and wants no one to know that his end is near.
The only person that could ruin his reputation is the new nurse Rose Mcallister, Something about this new nurse grabs his attention like no other woman before and it scares him.
His family has always been in the rodeo business all the way to his grand pappy and hes going to remain a rodeo clown no matter what medical science says otherwise.
The thing is though he is fighting for his life he is also trying to deny the attraction towards Rose.
He knows love is something a clown like him never gets in his life but he wants Rose like no other woman.
Can he protect her and take away the pain in her eyes before it is too late
Ah Rose and Bass are two people that are so different from one another yet share one thing in common.
They are both afraid of falling in love, Now the thing that makes this story fun to read was that they kept denying the love even though you can tell right away it is there between them.
What I liked about it was that Rose is a fighter yet something in her wants to be loved again and Bass is definitely the man for her in every way.
Donna did a great job in these two characters showing their strengths towards one another and the weakness they have in their passion for one another.
Great job Donna.
