Для мене це занадто авангардно, але вражає, наскільки збірка буржуазнонаціоналістична. Не знаю, чого вартувало Тичині схилитися перед режимом і дослужитися до цілого міністра освіти УРСР. Такого самостійництва, як у Кларнетах, ще пошукати. Перша збірка відомого українського поета, яка принесла йому широке визнання та любов читачів. після соняшних кларнетів ні разу не дивують міфи

про зірковий час української мови на всіх на світі конкурсах милозвучності, бо якби конкурси милозвучності були, то мова, якою пише тичина, там не дала б конкурентам ні шансу. часом здається, що він сам ошелешений від того, що можна підходити так близько до межі чистої музики, кришталевої ономатопейності і все одно лишатися осмисленим.
