on A Baby on the Ranch / Ramona and the Renegade (Forever, Texas, #5 2)

I just didnt feel the connection with A BABY ON THE RANCH, Everything seemed too mild, slow paced and unimportant, It lacked in romance and the plot was weak,

Kasey Stonestreet is made out to be loved by the small town, smart and well rounded, yet she stayed in a marriage with a man the town didnt like and a selfcentered gambling addict.
How in the world did she not realize, in theyears they were married, her mistake before a baby was brought into the picture

Just a day after giving birth, Eli Rodriguez is woken by his friend Hollis, who turns out to be abandoning his wife and newborn.
Hes there to ask Eli to watch and take care of them,

Loving Kasey for years, its hard for him to hold his tongue over what Hollis has done to her, but the most important thing is to focus on giving Kasey and son Wayne a place to stay.
Another factor, why would Eli, a man who claimed to love Kasey, not risk his friendship with her to tell her he knew for a fact that Hollis was stepping out on her Not much of a friend in my book.

Anyway, once living together, I thought the story should have picked up, but of course it didnt, They smoothly got into a rhythm and slowly grew closer, but not in a way that keeps readers interested,

I did like how Eli took to baby Wayne, He did a good job and being hands on with the baby and loving him, Kasey begins to realize what she was too blind to see, that Eli isx the man Hollis was, However a part of her believes she doesnt get a second chance to make the better choice this time around.

Both Eli and Kasey had the right intentions with their feelings, but neither was willing to act on them and for me, that makes a boring book.

Hollis returning at the end really didnt do much for the story, Eli was willing to sit back and let Kasey go, if she so choose to forgive Hollies, It only proved that only Kasey was the only one to grown any and learn from her mistakes,

Turns out, she did get her second choice and this time she hit the nail on the head.

This rating is just for A Baby on the Ranch, I'll deal with Ramona and

the Renegade
sitelinkhere,

This had potential, but it was really rather annoying, I didn't feel the least bit sorry for either the Hero or Heroine, Too many dumbass choices. Her choosing to run after the flashy football star instead of the sweet guy right there, And him covering for said football star in all the awful crap he did while claiming she was his best friend.
Neither of them could get up the gumption to just say what they were feeling, The whole thing was them ignoring what the other has said or done and questioning everything or refusing to say what they wanted and felt so as to not spook the other thus going around in a frustrating circle.
I wanted to throttle them both, The book ends without Eli ever confessing how long he has had feelings for her, That was a let down, And, Kasey, Jebus, if you really needed Eli to tell you what to do about the husband who abandoned you and your two day old son, leaving you homeless, there is just no hope for you.
A good read that got me a little worked up, I liked the characters and the plot, I liked that this was double feature too and had another story in it, Both had great personalities, emotions, humor, ups and downs, and great endings, Great for reading anytime and some pageturning parts, Enjoy Miniseries: Forever, Texas

"Ferrarella skillfully returns to the tiny town of Forever and to her special brand of hometown magic and love.
" RT Book s, rated/Book was great Finished Baby on the Ranch only, I have gotten hooked on this author! I love her characters and the stories are wonderful, Both stories in this novel were good, although they seemed incomplete to me, I mean a lot of things that needed to be there, weren't, Which was a shame because it started to amount to a good novel, Such is life I suppose, Very good book. I loved the way that Eli was always there for Kasey, They had always been friends, but Eli had loved her as more than a friend also, Eli was the one that Kasey called when she went into labor and her husband was nowhere to be found.
He was also there when the baby was born, When her husband asked Eli to take care of Kasey because he was leaving and had lost his ranch in a poker game, Eli stepped right up.
Eli's love for Kasey was obvious in everything he did, He was very careful not to blurt out his feelings because he didn't know how she felt and didn't want to make her uncomfortable or want to leave.
Kasey couldn't believe that she was deserted and homeless, Hollis hadn't been a good husband, but she had never expected this, She felt like she was taking advantage of Eli's friendship, but she had nowhere else to go, As the days went by, she discovered she was happy with Eli, and that those feelings of friendship were growing into something stronger.
Eli made her feel safe and cared for, When she discovered that there was passion there too, she couldn't believe her luck, I loved the way that her feelings for Eli got stronger as time passed, and that she was able to realize that what she felt for him was true love.
The scene at Alma's wedding was great, and I loved the way Hollis was dealt with, When Kasey Stonestreet's husband walked out on her and their newborn son, her best friend, Eli Rodriguez, was her rock.
Eli took them in at his Forever, Texas, ranch without hesitation, As a suddenly single mom with nowhere else to go, Kasey expected to feel out of place, Instead, for the first time in her life, she felt as though she was home, Eli has secretly loved Kasey since they were kids he was devastated when she married another man, Now, he's got a second chance at happiness, The woman of his dreams, and the family he always wanted, are in his reach, But if he reveals his true feelings, it could ruin their friendship, and he'd lose Kasey forever,
