Get Hearts Go Singing Articulated By Lilian Chisholm Presented As Mobi

am a big fan of vintage Harlequin Romance novels especially those written beforeor so but some authors such as Betty Neels, Essie Summers and Mary Burchill wrote funny, well
Get Hearts Go Singing Articulated By Lilian Chisholm Presented As Mobi
written and entertaining romances well into thes.
I enjoy the plucky, independent, witty heroines and their clever interactions with the heroes, The plots may not always be that believable but the characters are relatable and their reactions to their circumstances are usually plausible.

This novel, which I read titled Doctor Luke, was nothing like those books described above, The heroine doesnt have a particularly charming personality, The only thing interesting about her is her first name Daryl, I cannot imagine anyone cheering for her to win the day, The hero of the book is difficult and the explanation for his anger is not adequate, His office and home are described as cold and sterile and this situation is given a significant emphasis but to no end.
The supporting cast are caricatures with odd behaviours that are not really explained away, even at the end of the book.
That aha moment when the heroine realizes she loves the hero is only expected because of the page number getting close to the end not because of any particular connection the two have made.
The only part that was even faintly interesting was the plight of Johnnie, Dr, Lukes son.
I hope Ms. Chisholm was going through a dry spell at this time because this book leaves little to entice me to dig out any of her other books.

On the very eve of Daryl's big chance in the world of singing, a professional visit she paid to a surgeon was fraught with great consequences.

For Daryl it meant the end of singing for a year for the widower Doctor Luke, it meant in the person of Daryl the acquisition for one year of a qualified child nurse for his children.

And for both of them it meant the beginning of a relationship which was to stir them to the depths of their being.
