Earn Glen Tylers Scottish Troubles (Glen Tylers Adventures, #2) Picturized By J.B. Sanders Exhibited In Booklet

the first one this book is completely over the top and funny, It works since the book doesn't take itself to seriously and actually tries to find things that aren't believable and put them into the story.
This time Glen gets more of the spotlight and shines on how is more than just a jock, He gets to use his history studies to help find out more about Tyler's home and how to get into the secret room, Of course it is a little absurd his line of medieval games as a focus for study but it is fun, There is also the standard kilt fun and evil bad guys, Tyler and Glen are back!

This time they're hitting the road for Scotland where Tyler has an inherited castle and lands under the management of an evil jerk.
Of course there's more than just that tomfoolery afoot, with all manner of secrets, secret passages, bad guys, thieves, killers, and mercenaries about,

Glen and Tyler also head to Saint Andrews so Glen can finish his dissertation while Tyler is determined to solve another mystery, oh.
. . and the two are nearly killed at least a couple of times,

While there's no shortage of action, adventure, and mystery it does lack a lot of the humor and is just plain missing the same.
. . je nais se quoi of the first novel,

But I do love how much these two complement other God help the world if Glen dies, Just sayin'. , and the way they're growing

as a couple, It also ends with Tyler dropping a pretty big bombshell on Glen grr cliffhanger!, so I guess I'm going to have to grab the third book to find out what's going to happen to the boys.

This review has been crossposted at sitelinkGay Book s, After rather bratily treating myself to this, I rushed through it despite having several other significant things I should have been working on.

I didn't dislike Angela as much by the end as I did around,
I like the first one better this felt rather more hastily written but it was fun and I'm looking forward to the next two.

ETA: On further reflection and a conversation with my husband, I am upgrading this tostars, While there can be no doubt that this is extremely "fluffy" reading and is intended to be just that there are also constant signs that Mr.
Sanders has done thorough and consistent that one's big with me character planning, My favorite example from this particular book is the episode with the environmentalist and Tyler's caveat to how her job must be handled, Well done, sir. This novel reminded me very much of themovie, The Thin Man, where a married couple, Nick and Nora Charles, “played” detectives while attending poshy parties Nora is a Nob Hill heiress.
The only difference is that here, Glen amp Tyler are both men, and Tyler is way, way more wealthy than Nora, And how he uses his money makes this novel also similar to some James Bond movie, with all the hyper technology gadgets only in those movies you were able to see.

Really, the mood is not really different from those comedies, just pick the relationship between Glen and Tyler, they are married, so they are allowed to share a bed but the “censorship” behaves like they were in the, if they are in bed together, one of them has at least one feet touching the floor, or if not, one of them is above the blanket those were the rules at the time, and this is the rule for Glen and Tyler, they can prove they are in love in many other way, sharing secrets, exchanging kisses, bitching like only longterm couples are able to do and considering they were friends way before getting married, they have the right to that title.

As for the gadgets, true, to an ordinary man they seem like impossible dreams, but Tyler is not an ordinary man, he is the fourth richest man in the world, and so, if he was to flight from US to Europe in a private airship well he can, since he owns the airship if he want to donatemillion dollars to charity, again, for him its like peanuts, and they are tax deducible too.

Dont read this series trying to find the realism in it, this is not a “serious” mystery/thriller, this is a comedy about two men with enough money and power to make their own real life video games out of everything, even attending postgraduate College in one of the oldest University in the word, and why not, making friends with some royalty too.

So buckle up and take a flight with Glen amp Tyler on their airship, you will spend some hour in mindless entertainment that is the best by the way!

At justinto this book, I was intrigued, A bunch of Russian dudes, with most definitely dastardly intentions, a shell game involving fishing trawlers and a mention of the Irish Sea, Despite some of these things not making another appearance for some time in the story, I was in,

After that intro, were right into being with Glen and Tyler, our main guys, I was smiling immediately. Yup! Also I was already sure I was going to be reading more from this author, and this series specifically, Yup! This has a wonderfully flowing, intelligent style and varying tones that fit each scene, Thats not always easy to do,

Since this is book two in the series, Glen and Tyler are in a place in their relationship that demonstrates the knowledge theyve gained since becoming a couple, while still learning things about each other.
I havent read bookbut will! and yet didnt feel like my reading experience was compromised, Based on some of the conversations, however, Im willing to venture a guess that, if you do read these in order, theyll be that much more enjoyable.

For as many supporting characters as there are, theyre all memorable, When I think of the guys friends/bodyguards, the fishermen, Mary, Effie, and even the ones who dont appear until later in the story, they all make me smile.
Or sneer. Or guffaw. Its not easy to include so many characters, which is a great way to build each location, and have them all feel meaningful,

Bonus: hurling!!! Yes, the fantasmical sport of hurling gets a mention, as a result of a conversation and the inclusion of shinty.
Just saying. Hurling!! Whos googling right now

This story involves adventure, mystery and the continual discovery of this relationship of Glen and Tylers, I could say more about all of those but I dont want to ruin any of the surprises, even the subtle ones, The great thing is that Glen and Tyler are portrayed as secure in both themselves and their partnership, which takes several forms, Simply, theyre in love. Theyre each unique, with Glen a bit more introspective, and he takes his time in thinking about things before making a decision, Hes funny, very intelligent and wants to achieve the goals hes set for himself, Tyler is clever and very good at reading people, He is gungho with a huge heart and he shows it, Constantly.

This last point is sometimes overdone, This story definitely has a case of hyperreality, with incredibly rich, young guys who can make anything happen and do, that seem to have all of the answers and resolutions come quickly.
It leads to some repetition and the feeling of going around in circles once or twice, but its never so much as to produce major eyerolling or headtilting.
There are a few technical errors, but again, nothing that pulls you from the story for longer than it takes to read past one.

Its a bit of a utopia, but eh, who really cares Remember, were talking fun here, people, FUN, And honestly, so many books like this have been written, but not with two guys in a loving, married relationship where that relationship is not the star itself but instead something that informs just about everything that happens in the story.
Mr Sanders has a unique voice when it comes to his fiction and I like it,

This story wont set off the sizzle meter but it will make you smile, make you feel involved in the story and invested in these characters, and youll get that feeling when you want to find out whats going to happen next, whatever the context.
This is a work of fiction that everyone could read and enjoy,

I enjoyed this world that JB Sanders has created, with Glen and Tyler at its core, Ill be going back for more and Ive already purchased book, as well as downloaded the freebie that coincides with it,
Now that you know about this one, you can avoid my path and take the one that allows you to enjoy these two from the very beginning.
I definitely recommend it. :
