of the best books I have read this year, I didn't want to put it down I was rooting for Rebekah from the first page, This book hooks you right in won't let you go till the very last page,
I think the only part of this book I wished I understood more was Rebekah sister, And the emotions around all that, it was kind of like she got a bit skipped over, But other then that, AMAZING love story, I smile thinking of it,
A must read for any romantics out there, Ahhh I get the warm a fuzzy's : This book was cute, There were times where I felt I was reading a love story about young teenagers, not a widow and a celebrity.
The way their thoughts were written as if they were talking aloud, drove me a bit nuts, Also, one paragraph she would be talking, then the next paragraph had switched to his POV, and that gave me whiplash, since I felt the whole book went back and forth inside the chapters instead of the chapters themselves being per character.
The story itself was about second love, and the chance that can come with it, That part was beautiful. Overall is was all over the place, FOR ME but it was sweet, It was a very sweet book but maybe a little too, . . vanilla the whole way through, I think there was too much emphasis on their extreme attachment to each other and not enough reality that the whole storyline seemed a bit bland.
I thought it was a fun read and I also praise the author to keep it clean but romantic, This is Marisa Adam's debut novel and I have to say I am very impressed with Is Love Enough, I have always enjoyed thoughtful romance novels and Marisa did not disappoint with this tale of happily ever after,
Marisa makes her characters very relatable, Your heart will grieve right along with Bekah with the death of her husband and then you'll swoon for the devastatingly handsome Jason who falls head over heels for sweet Rebekah.
You'll also love the other characters like Danny and Nikki, I can't promise you'll like Carrie, because I couldn't stand her!!
This is a very tasteful and clean story.
I could loan this to my mom and not be embarrassed at her reading some of the scenes,
You can tell that Marisa poured her heart and soul into this fabulous love story, It's one of the most romantic and sweet stories I've read, I am anxious to read Marisa's other works and in the indie world I think she's going to stick around for a long time! Unrealistic!!! Okay, so I finished the book.
All I have to say about her, is that bitch!! Glad she got what was coming to her, I absolutely loved every part of the book, The storyline moved at a great pace, and anyone in love with a celebrity can relate still waiting for Ryan Reynolds to return my messages.
No tawdry sex scenes, but passion and romance, As a fellow romantic, it's everything I thought it would be coming from your gifted hands and imagination, and then some.
I can't wait for the next installment If you read my book reviews regularly, you know that I tend to very critical of romances that are typical and have the basic "happily ever after" formula.
All too often, these books are haphazardly written and published, and I generally find those mediocre at best, If the author is an exceptional author, I may be inclined to give the book a higher rating, But rarely do I give these kinds of romances astar rating, And if it is a contemporary romance, the chances are even more slim, If is a short book The author often will be going well to bet astar rating from me,
Well, Marisa Adams has written a book that so mesmerized my senses and emotions that she deserves thestar rating and more! She blew all of my preconceived notions out of the water, and to think that this book had been sitting in my account for over six months! Yikes, I didn't know what I was missing! Her book captured my heart from the first page to the final page of the epilogue.
As I read it last night, I did not want to go to bed, I was too busy dreaming and tingling over Jason, I think I found a new book boyfriend! I would say Rebekah was one lucky woman to be dating him.
And the revenge against one of the characters was so immeasurably sweet, and I took great delight in it!
This book is a definite clean romance.
The characters actually believe in waiting to consummate their relationship, and there was not a bedroom scene description to be had.
Sure, there was one implied scene, but the reader was not privy to the bedroom action, There is some very minor profanity, but I never found that I was offended, It is surprising that the book is clean since Jason works on a soap opera something I refuse to watch!, and furthermore, he is an actor.
I expected him to be a libertineI guess true love can cause a reformation,
So what were the good points Everything! There was romance, passion, humor, deception, misunderstandings, and even babies! The author has written a book that demonstrates that true romance does not have to include sex scenes! I suppose I could personally relate to Rebekah since I am a teacher a social studies teacher wanttobe, to be perfectly honest, and she always wanted to see "Phantom of the Opera," and she did! You never can go wrong with my favorite musical.
After all, I saw that musical on Broadway back inI really am old, aren't I That is still the only time I ever went to New York, but I haven't forgotten.
And although Rebekah lived in Houston, Texas, I lived and taught in Texas for eleven years I was in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
If you want to take a moment and read a book that will make you believe that love is enough and still exists in this world, get this book immediately! It is a quick read, and I can only hope that Marisa Adams will provide more wonderful books for us in the future.
By the way, if a movie ever is made of this book, I am first in line to play Rebekah! Just kiddingI'm too old, but it's a nice sentiment.
I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review, I was not financially compensated, and all opinions arepercent mine,
My first novel my Marisa Adams and it was rather enjoyable, Didn't seem too plausible for me, maybe because I don't believe in people falling head over heels in love so quickly.
There was a good amount of romance and drama involved so it made the book a quick read, This book consists of all the usual hates,
Yes, the dreaded instalove, Aah! Kill me now.
telling not showing or unnecessary telling after the showing
inappropriate whispering
overexaggerated “Oh she's so beautiful/perfect/amazing/” CHEESY.
nonengaging dialogue
Honestly, the best parts were when they were fighting, You know there's something wrong with a book when you're only interested in them breaking up,
Love is a powerful thing but, sometimes, love isn't enough, At least, that's what Rebekah Thomas believes, In her younger, more naive days, Rebekah thought love could conquer all that was before the death of her husband, and high school sweetheart.
Now she believes life is easier without it, Ever the romantic at heart, a failed marriage and cinema glitter is not enough to stop famous actor Jason Taylor from believing the right woman for him is out there somewhere.
Tired of his undeserved playboy reputation, he unexpectedly finds the forever kind of love miles away, with a small town teacher.
Rebekah and Jason could bridge their different worlds together, but this sweet and compassionate teacher has trouble letting him in.
Just as she is convinced they could have a chance, one moment threatens to destroy everything they have built, Can Rebekah finally see the truth that sometimes, love is all you need While in New York at a teachers conference, Rebekah stumbles upon famous daytime actor, Jason Taylor.
The attraction between the two is instant and the feelings that overtake them is unlike any the two have ever felt before.
But with hundreds of miles between them and lives that dont exactly follow the same social circles, . . they have to ask themselvesis love enough Or will the factors stacking up against them at every turn do the young couple in before love has a chance to be had
I am not a fan of the instantloveatfirstglance unless there is some real emotion put into it.
I want to feel what they characters are feeling and know that it could be real, But Adams did a great job making me believe these two had what it takes, The story of these two characters working for a future of Happily Ever After wasnt easy, They had to face several obstacles in order to be together including being hundreds of miles apart and an ex that was hell bent on winning Jasons love back.
I had a couple quirks with the book, One was that a lot of what went on was too sugary sweet and sappy at times, Now this can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what the reader is in the mood for.
Sometimes too much sweetness can make the
story unrealistic, And sometimes, a reader is having such a bad day that they need that sappy to help them feel whole again.
I was on the fence while reading it, There were times I wanted to roll my eyes at some of the stuff being said and other times I thought were very swoon worthy.
Another quirk I had about the book was the way it was written, I am not sure what you call this writing stylebut I just do not like it when they book is written through so many different POVs without being separated.
In one paragraph I got the POV ofdifferent characters and that had me going back to reread the sentences again.
So, Adams writing was a bit confusing at times, If you are going to write several POVs I find it is easier to separate them by giving them their own chapters.
But with that being said, I enjoyed it and thought it was perfect for my day of reading.
I climbed into bed and enjoyed what the book had to offer: loving amp sweet Main Characters, a storyline that held my interest, and great secondary characters that anyone would love to have as friends.
IS LOVE ENOUGH is a quick read that will leave you smiling, I recommend it to anyone who loves a sweet, clean, romantic read,
