This must have been the book my husband was thinking of reading, gave up on, then asked me if I was interested, It was short enough that I gave it a try, Too much political science discussion for me, but the characters were nice, And things were looking up for Margaret and Jake, for a few pages, I was hoping the crochety guy was the murder victim, not the nice guys, I am really torn in what I think about this book, Wellwritten Yes. Did the author do her job and make me care about the characters Yes, But why the heck did she think she had to kill off two of the most appealing characters in the book The second murder really got to me.
Surely we could have cast somebody else in the role of second victim, .
