Honey Apple Crisp
Oh My! This is dangerously delicious, Jim and I want more, but Id become ill from the sugar overload, Jim hadbowls. This will be my go to recipe from now on, This was very easy to make, I baked it in a cast iron skillet
I used Granny Smith apples
Dutch Apple Roll,
I made two logs from this, and froze them, A few days later, I pulled out one of the frozen logs, and they are very easy to slice, You can make these as thick as you like, I like to have desserts at the ready that slice and bake directly from the freezer, These are delicious. I like them just like they are, and Jim likes to add ice cream to his dish,
I will make this again,
Tip: while rolling keep your palms around the dough as you pull the apples that are falling away in to the roll as you roll Just tuck and roll hurry and wrap this and put in the freezer.
These are much easier to slice after being in the freezer over night, If you slice these as soon as you make them they will become squished/distorted, which will cause the apples to fall out, I had to reroll, and start again, because of this, That is how I learned to freeze over night,
If you are going to freeze these pour the syrup on right before putting in the oven I did not freeze these with syrup on them.
I made the Dutch Apple Roll from Maryland, and the Blueberry Nut Muffins,
The muffins are ok, and better
hot with butter, I pulled these out at theminute mark and believe they would be perfect atminutes, I changed the baking time tominutes on my recipe, as they would have burnt at theminute mark, I added more blueberries than called for,/cups
I chose theserecipes because I'm picking out recipes of items I already have in my pantry/refrigerator,
I love finding Bed amp Breakfast cookbooks, because they are recipes which are created over and over again, I have found several recipes in this book I look forward to making, I'll update and share each one as I create,
The blueberry muffins are not muffins I'll make again as I'm still looking for a more moist blueberry muffin, but I am enjoying this book I haves of cookbooks and this is one of the ones I will go to for yummy, inn inspirated food.
I have never been disappointed by the sides, cakes, pies, etc, I have tried. I'm excited to see it's in a new printing, so I may have to get it, Even better than Volume I, We have owned this cookbook foryears now and we continue to pull it out to try new recipes, as well as to get to some of our favorites.
There are a great variety of recipes, but we sure do like many of the recipes for breakfast or brunch dishes, If we were to lose this book due to some bizarre event we would make sure that this particular volume was on the replacement list.
I cannot get enough of this cookbook! My mom gave it to me years ago and I'm just now getting into it! The recipes are straightforward, the food delicious and myyear old loves following along as we cook together in the kitchen.
