Damon aka Jezebel, succubus demon, daughter of Satan aka rising wedding planner is finding herself in a bit of a quandary, How does she plan her mom's who happens to be Satan, wedding, a big affair in the Down Under, find Azael and fight her attraction to a demon slayer all at the same time Not to mention try to stay in the mortal realm so she can find her one true love.
The Devil's in the Details is a fun, frolicking light hearted romance despite the big baddies against demons like her who just wants a simple life, The writing was excellent, funny and humorous and the dialogue was witty and engaging, The premise of demons and demon slayers isn't anything new but the comedic way it was presented was certainly a page turner,

I have read a couple of Rayes books but never a paranormal one by her and I am just not sure I enjoyed it.
The story is interesting but a little common, And while Rayes sense of humor is usually enjoyable to me this one just seemed silly,
There is also too many characters, I know that is odd but Raye seems to have needed to add every Hellish character she has ever heard of, I also didnt realize this is a continuous story which I didnt enjoy, I will probably pick up the next book hoping it is better,
There are good points to this book, The story is funny in and of itself and some of the background characters are fun to read about too, This one just didnt make me impressed,

This is a very promising start to a new series,
The story is not truly unique, if you have read Anne bishop you already know what it's like to read about the underworld and its denizens being seen as sort of the 'good guys'.
However, this book is in no way as serious a book as ASIN:The Black Jewels: Trilogy: Daughter of the Blood / Heir to the Shadows / Queen of the Darkness.
This book is all about the hysterics of a bridal planner who just happens to be the daughter of Satan, Of course in this version of Hell Satan just happens to be a female named Lillith and is ruling Hell with her other three sisters,
Jess is actually a succubus demon named Jezebel and is ruling her own wedding planing outfit and is contracted to do the wedding of the ultimate bridezilla her mother.
Naturally all Hell breaks loose, Jess has also sworn off seducing men, . . she wants her own happily ever after, but really can that be in the cards Then in comes the delicious hunk Cutter who is a Demon slayer, Meanwhile sparks fly with Cutter and Jess, a mystery abounds, chocolate flows like water and brides go crazy,
All in all a typical day in the life of a wedding planner!
The story is just a little too fast paced, and a bit convoluted at times.
The ending was a little surprising but the epilogue was what clinched this for me, I do so love a cliffhanger and that is exactly what you will be getting if you read this action packed, funny and oddly heartwarming new novel, Jess Damon runs an upandcoming wedding planning business, She's also a succubus, a daughter of Satan, and trying out being nondemonic, With her mother the aforementioned Satan coming to her for a rush wedding and a legendary demon hunter chasing them both down, Jess is looking doomed,
This appears to have been the start of a series that didn't get off the ground, It's fairly easy to see why, While it's humorous most of the time with the harried wedding planner shtick, adding Jess's enormous demon family on top of things just ends up making things silly.
Or actually macabre if you actually think about any of it, Which of course you're not meant to as its trying to be a silly romcom, So what does it say about how successful it is at that when my mind kept wandering off to things like where exactly did that demon aunt get the glass of AB she's drinking
Light, entertaining fair that eventually leads to nothing much.
This book was fantastic! and know that I'm not into PR book but this one spoke to me! yep jess was my friend and we communicated, no really.
it was fun, intriguing, fresh, I was so hooked to the story, All my missing in tv show, I got a summary from hers, all the acknowledges about hell and god got it from hers, not all but a few,
I can't wait for the next one, This book just didn't work for me, . . and I think it's because I do not enjoy paranormal characters behaving a little too much like humans, Jess is a succubus and her attempt to be normal made her character a little less interesting,
The humor felt a little forced to me, . . I got a few giggles but for the most part it felt like humor overkill,
This was a quick and easy read and for the most part there are some interesting characters, I really loved Cutter the demon hunter, The fact that he is a demon hunter and Jess is a demon made this match a little complicated!
This might appeal to someone with a different type of sense of humor than me so feel free to give it a go.
It's not a badly written book just one that didn't appeal to me personally,

Sassy, spunky and a bit naughty, is the Devil's daughter, Jess, as in Jezebel, Jess is a wedding planner whose clients are both mortal and other worldly, but when Jess is tasked with planning her mother's wedding, all Hell breaks loose,
Although not my typical book, I did enjoy wandering a bit in another direction, but I could have skipped some of the language and the "romantic" scenes.
Not sure if I would reach for the next book, "The Devil Made Me Do It"
but perhaps the old girl will make me do it also!
I teetered between aandstar rating because I liked this book enough, and just when it would get too disgustingly cliche, something interesting would happen and hold my attention for awhile.
I liked the main character, but thought she was too sugarysweet to be a succubus, And this novel clung to pop culture references that likely intended to make the book current, but evenyears later the references have already gone stale, Ten years down the road, readers will not understand these references, I listened to the book on audiobook, and it was a good time passer, I enjoyed how much research the author did on demonology, and if I ignored the cliches, I liked the book enough, but definitely did not love it, Listened for Brilliance

First Thought when Finished: The Devil's in the Details by Kimberly Raye was a super cute cozy mystery/paranormal romance that made me laugh out loud!
Quick Thoughts:
The Good: Characters were fun.
Story was a unique twist on thehorseman one I thought worked, The mystery was well plotted, The book was a quick easy read that left me with a smile on my face,
The Meh: Really only two things: too much repetition and the end was a little to open ended for a stand alone novel, The case was wrapped up but there were other things that were not,
Audio Thoughts:
Narrated By Amy McFadden / Length:hrs andmins
Amy did an EXCELLENT job with the narration! She had just the right amount of sass, brass, and spunk.
Her male narrations were pretty spot on too, Overall enjoyable.
Part of my Read It, Rate It, File It, DONE! s Jess is a succubus and just happens to be the daughter of the devil, a woman.
Jess runs a highly successful wedding planning business which the family believes it is so she can have her way with the grooms, the groomsmen and any

other male in the wedding parties.
But Jess is a secret romantic and who is hoping for her own Happily Ever After while making sure Houston Brides get theirs,
In this book, her mother is getting married and wants Jess to plan the wedding, All the while Jess has issues in her private life that include a demon hunter shes wildly attracted to since shes a demon thats not good and a mysterious someone who is out to get her.
I have mixed feelings about this story, I like the premise, even if it was familiar, and I loved the characters, What I didnt like was the comedy, Some of it was funny, but most of the time I felt like it was overkill, The silliness was overdone to me,
I want to read the next book in the series as this book did its job in capturing my attention and keeping it, The story flowed nicely and the characters are pretty unforgettable, I think this was a fun book and a decent start to a series, I just wasnt blown away,

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!!
I have enjoyed previous Kimberly Raye books, and I have enjoyed this one, A demon as a wedding planner is genius! Jess was a hoot and super quirky, She was hilarious when she was hungry for junk food because we can relate, Cutter also was super steamy and loved Blythe and Jess's assistants, I wish there was more elaboration on Blythe's love problems though but I am glad Gio went back to his girl, I really enjoyed reading this story and can't wait to read the next ones! A demon wedding planner You're up for one hell of a ride to the altar.

A promising start to a new series, Jess Jezebel is a Succubus turned wedding planner, Her mom is the ruler of Hell, and incidentally, ready to tie the knot to gain full control of the downunder, All Jess wants to do is find mr, Right, but how can she find the time, with the ultimate bridezilla and a sinfully hot demon slayer watching her every move, . .
If you watch David Tutera, this just might be the book for you, Though the characters are mostly demons, that particular aspect really isn't that big of a deal throughout the book, You'll see a few demon temper tantrums, but mostly it's about the world of wedding planners, And, of course, Cutter. The número uno demon slayer, looking for Azazel, the demon who stole his soul, Unless Jess is willing to help him, she will become his next victim, . . Except, he might just be as drawn to Jess as she is to him, All well and good, but I WOULD have liked a little more, let's say, carnal attraction, Oh well, maybe in the next installment, Very fluffy, cute, ridiculous urban fantasy about a "girl" demoness whose mother is The Devil, more or less, The main character, Jess Damon, has rebelled against her succubus upbringing and wants a real relationship, with love, so she's going celibate until she can find "The One.
" While she waits, she makes a living as a wedding planner, which comes in handy when her mother decides to get married so she can gain control of Hell.
Oh, why continue w/more plot You're not reading it for the plot, . . suffice it to say, Jess finds she has the hots for a demon slayer, and he has the hots for her, It's a classic case of opposites attract, Our , by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha Chelle:

Ahhh, Kim's back! :
The Devil's in the Details gives us love, laughs, mystery, mayhem, snark, and some super fun characters.
Our heroine, Jess, is cute, fun, sassy, and a bit of a mess in a empty calorie obsessed, hopeless romantic sort of way, who's also a succubus, wedding planner extraordinaire, and the devil's daughter.
Cutter is an awesome hero, and while he doesn't play a huge role, the tension between them is super fun,
If you're a Dead End Dating fan, you will really enjoy this book, Jess is almost as funny as Lil, and has grounds to be just as spunky as the series continues, It's obvious that she has the penchant for getting herself in over her head just as easily as well, : With that said, TDitD is an absolute must read for Lil/DED fans, but if you're new to Kimberly Raye's awesome work, this is a good place to start as well.
I'm so happy to have a Kimberly Raye witty and wacky heroine to love and follow again, I really enjoyed this light, fun read and am definitely looking forward to more in this world,
