really for me, but for more of a food purest, it would probably be awesome, The tips and pictures were really nice and the book was a great size, This book has some very tasty and very healthy smoothie recipes, My only issue is that the recipes have some very unusual and varied ingredients which makes keeping your cupboards stocked with the right things a little challenging! I results are worth it though! If you like smoothies but get tired of the same old thing this book is for you! Wow! I have to step up my blender game.
Usually I use it for smoothies, which I'm currently in a rut and need smoothie inspiration, So many wonderful new ideas and things to make, I did make a cheesecake once in a blender and thought I was just being lazy did not want to wash a bunch of bowls, etc.
Glad to see all the other things you can make in a blender, I grabbed this one from the library and plan to hold on to it for some time, I adore smoothies and I would drink it all day long, without eating crude food, because you can blend almost anything.
Blender girl book is great because it explains all about blending different types of food, seasonal, superfood additions and how to use it and what are they good for.
I tried smoothies from the book and I love it, Because sometimes same blend combination can be boring, I forgot to review this!
I Loved this book!!
I am a Vitamix newbie amp got stuck in my pigeon hole as to what to blend.
. . My favorite this summer was a watermelon margarita, . .
My family, just kind of threw it in and blended it! Great smoothies etc, but why were they not as smooth as the Vitamix demo guy WELL!! OMG!! I got my answer! Plus some!!
At first when you start reading this book via ebook, you think "hey! this was supposed to be recipes!" It is!! Don't worry! But first she walks you through the basics.
what kinds of blenders are good, what's a reasonably priced one etc, I got mine, so I skimmed that portion, . .
There was a ton of stuff I didn't know though! Great new info, for me to jot down or look back up etc, For one soaking nuts!! YA!! Cashews amp almonds!! WOW!! I can't wait to try it! The order you add things before you blend.
. . Liquid first! Should be a no brainer, but umm not me! I always threw in fruit first amp wondered why I had to stab my ingredients around to get it to blend amp the grinding sound I'd get my blender to make because I did it WRONG!! I am so glad I'm cured amp I cannot wait for spring amp the fresh fruit season!!
Her recipes are amazing too! There are original ones as well as tweaked better ones! I know I like to use the blender for smoothies, soups sometimes in the food processor, but she supplies even more.
She tells us to "love our blender" and how to choose one which I have learned over the years why I use the nutribullet versus the vitamix and food processor but replaced my other blender, wash our fruits/veggies which I usually just do warm water, care for our b lenders which I have overloaded and burned it out before even juicer and tells us to soak instead of going broke.
I never considered soaking veggies or nuts, and cut up veggies which some will stuff their Vitamix these costsand do not want to see it break no time soon.
I finally bought one a couple months ago as birthday gift in May,
She shares she her health which caused her to change her eating habits and diet which I notice I am now glutenfree and already since childhood was lactose, had a daily intolerant issue, and was always sick when I drank milk, from vegetarian to vegan to raw food diet for example.
I have wanted to practice pescetarian but failed, then vegetarian doing pretty good now except every now and then eat fish/shrimp and realized shrimp doesn't make me feel too good, and want to be a vegan.
My health needs it and tired of being overpounds on and off since I was, My willpower is not easy being with someone who loves sweets and meats, Yet I pay more attention to what foods are doing to my body,
I only was interested in aboutrecipes, I tried two today, breakfast: raspberry cheesecake drink, and first time using my dehydrator purchased aboutyears ago to make fruit strips and hope it turns out good for a snack.
If it does, I will bring this with me on my upcoming trip,
Beautiful pics. Nice thing I have taken and learned from the book to consider alkaline, antiinflammatory remedies, and help with sleep and acid reflux.
Took photos of these for future use,
Vegan idea readI've tried several recipes from this cookbook and can say that while I liked it, I didn't love it.
The recipes have kind of been hitormiss, as some turned out great and were delicious tasteslikeicecream kale smoothie while others did not turn out at all the fluffy gf pancakes.
A lot of the recipes either call for ingredients that I typically don't have on hand, or they just seem really involved so even though they sound good, I haven't made them.
There is still at least one recipe that I plan on trying when I have the time orange dreamsicles!, but overall I probably won't use this cookbook
much.

Im thankful for the review copy of a book that introduced me to Tess Masters, The Blender Girl, this cook book and her blog by the same name.
I've started working a different job that has allowed me more time in the kitchen and less time driving to and from work.
I was thrilled to explore this new way of cooking, I liked how this author first talks about Whats the perfect blend for you Where she discusses her journey to getting healthy and what she learned along the way.
Not everything works for everybody, She talks about healthy ideas that you might want to blend into your life style, She talks about being proactive about your health and says, I make a point of eating foods rich in probiotics as part of an alkaline diet low in sugar and high in essential vitamins and minerals.
She also makes a point to eat food that is in season where she lives, She mixes up eating foods raw and some that are cooked, She helps the reader to think about making small changes in their lives that can make a huge difference in how they feel and whats best in the long run.
There is great information to assimilate written in an easy to read manner, She also talks about how your blender can become your partner in the kitchen, It can help your bring healthier snacks, drinks and meals to you and your family in a doable time frame,
There are a wide variety of recipes with ingredients that can be found in grocery stores that have a health food section many do.
I tried several of her recipes they are Thyme for Corn Chowder, Fluffy gf pancakes best ever, Orange dream sickles yummy and Dark Chocolate pudding great surprise loved it.
My family and I loved them, They even asked for seconds,
Some of the other yummy looking recipes I want to try are Spicy Chickpea Burgers with Portobello Buns and Greens, Alkaline Tacos, Creamy Mushroom Stroganoff, Potato Pizza and many more.
The book is broken down into several sections, They are: Healthy Ideas to Blend In, Smoothies and Shakes, Appetizers, Snacks, Dips and Spreads, Salads, Soups, The Main Event, Desserts, Drinks, Juices, and Tonics, Condiments, Sauces, and Creams.
I liked the variety.
This author walks the reader through how to choose a blender, She starts with your basic model and moves to the top of the line, She also discusses how to care for your blender so it will last a long time, Great tips.
I like how Tess shared about why certain veggies are beneficial to your body, She also mentions food combing and how certain foods work well together to make you feel your best,
I enjoyed the beautiful pictures throughout, I also liked the fact that these recipes can help the cook bring healthy meals to your family and yourself in a reasonable time frame.
You do need to read the recipes all the way through before you start cooking, I like how Tess talks about things you might be tempted to do and warns you not to do it, For example when I made the pancakes they tookminutes on one side andmore minutes after you flipped them, If you rushed the process she tells you that youll have soggy pancakes, These pancakes take longer to cook but they are so worth the wait, She was right.
The recipes include many ingredients and the measurements were in cups and grams, The author is originally from Australia and currently resides in California, Her Blender Girl blog reaches people all over the globe,
I highly recommend this book to everyone who wants to start down the path to eating healthier and feeling better and are looking for a place to start.
This book is also great for those of you that are already on this path, There areGlutenFree, Vegan recipes to try! Im looking forward to trying more myself!

Book Fun Magazine sitelinkwww, bookfunmagazine. com While the recipes are nothing new, I really enjoyed the firstpages of the book where she breaks down alkaline, PH balance, sprouting your foods and a few theories that I haven't thought much about which is: hydrating yourself first thing in the morning, eating specific fruits until noon, and probiotic rich foods to help your guts.
Well, I already knew about probiotic foods but she dives a little deeper,
I love to hear someone agree with my ideas about highly processed salt vs a natural, unbleached, not chemically processed salt which is actually hydrating and GOOD for your body.
I only buy natural salt, It wasn't silly theories, it was actual science and truth about salt which I'm always trying to tell people about but people start to glaze over because people only know the basics which is salt is bad so limit it.
Yes, but PURE salt is actually helps alkalize the body and help regulate digestion and circulation!
I actually tried sipping baking soda throughout the day like she suggests and I felt SO much better the next day.
I love her theories about sprouting foods to help digestion, I haven't tried it but I always soak almonds before I make pesto so I'm going try sprouting more foods and see if it makes a difference.
I'm a big believer that how we eat food and what we eat, changes how we feel, So this was great book for me, I read the firstpagesx and I keep referencing it for more ideas, .
