Ironic, considering it was produced by the unhealthy fast food chain McDonald's,

Maybe Mickey Ds should scrap the food and go into publishing, because Deana's Big Dreams is a treat tastier than the Big Mac.
But let's not go over board, I mean, that's not really saying much, This story of a very tiny dinosaur's troubles with being small and its subsequent troublesome growth spurt had enough value to sustain my first grader niece.


Every day after school Emma's supposed to put inminutes worth of reading and this fit the bill well enough, There were a few tough words she needed help with, but the main issue she had was with the funky font, Some of the letters, not to mention the toocutesyforitsowngood layout, were more fanciful than practical for a youngster just learning how to read, But we plodded through it,

I think the thing that kept Emma going was her ability to relate to Deana's smallness, She was also happy to relate it to her aunt's shortness, Not so sure my wife was thrilled about being made to measure up against me and then endure being laughed at by ayear old who for a moment couldn't get over how short her "Tita" is, as if she just noticed it for the first time.
Oh well, at least Emma and I had a good time!


PS: It comes with a pullout poster attached to the back cover, which clearly shows how much bigger Deana has grown!
