In this one we have her friend Avivah Rosen, a military police captain, recently returned from a year's duty in Vietnam, which she had requested, feeling that she really should serve there.
Now she is regretting that request and that service, which has left her with severe PTSD, A friend of hers suggests a retreat at a Catholic convent run by nuns, Pepper, as Elizabeth is known, and their retired Green Beret friend Benny Kirkpatrick go along to help Avivah and learn why she was so badly affected by her service.
Also at the convent are a group that are part of a buyout of the convent, which has been mostly closed down, with only a few nuns still in residence.

the Vietnam era, The author was herself a nurse in Vietnam so she knows the situation there,
Unfortunately, someone didn't proofread this thoroughly enough and there are a number of typos, My favorite refers to the "refractory table" in the dining hall,
I couldn't put this book down, I'm looking forward to reading the other books by her, I really enjoy the characters in this series, and it is why I will keep reading them,

The frustrating problem is that there are an incredible number of typos in the book and at the cost of a Five Star publication.
