love this story and illustration, .
I want more classics unfolded, The illustrations and quotes are fantastic! I wish theyd left out the summary sentences, They detract from the experience, Exquisitely beautiful!
There are currently four books in this little Classics Unfolded series, I own all four but have only previously read sitelinkPride and Prejudice,

Whilst i enjoy the minimalism of the story and the fact that genuine quotes from the books are used here, unlike in the Classics Unfolded Pride and Prejudice I wasn't captivated as much by the illustrations or indeed the story.
I have read The Secret Garden and can attest to it's magic, but this little book didn't seem to have even half as much magic as the fulllength story.

Whilst that is to be expected, what I wasn't expecting was for the illustrations to be a little lacklustre, as well, I was expecting the garden to be a little more magnificentas one feels when reading the storyand for the house to be a little more austere and gothicesque: even a little creepy.
But no, it was pretty standard and never quite took my imagination anywhere,

It is an enjoyable little book to remember the story by, and that is primarily how I use it: I also use it to see illustrators take their inspiration from books and how they adapt it to fit their own style and imagination.
Sadly, The Secret Garden isn't quite as well protrayed here as it could be, These are a great way to introduce new readers to the classics, and for old readers to relive their favorite quotes and scenes in a beautiful new format.
I love the story, I love the illustrations, . . This one is perfect! I usually will not read a book more than once, The Secret Garden is one of the few exceptions I have made, It is not magical, but it seems to be so, I will reread this book every few years when I am in need of comfort I first read this summer before I went into fifth grade an will still read it again now.
I am currently trying to get myyear old bother to read it, but his interest in reading is very little, Alas. Classics Unfolded: The Secret Garden, by Becca Stadtlander
A skipping stone across the waters of the story to the other bank, Each of the few sentences act as a segment title of that portion of the tale, Delightful artwork, and fun concept,
The illustrations are gorgeous, and quite makes up for the abrupt style of the retelling, I really love the illustrations, Eventhough the plot was made simpler but I don't mind, It is my favourite thing this year, I might seem too obssesed with The Secret Garden, The Secret Garden, a classic comingofage tale that explores rebirth and regeneration, now condensed for your easy enjoyment!

Lushly illustrated by Becca Stadtlander and part of the Classics Unfolded series, this title is protected by a gorgeous slipcase.
It is a fully illustrated foldout concertina, telling one of the world's greatest stories inscenes and doubling as a beautiful piece of freestanding art to shelve or frame.
With quotes from the original text, closeups of the main characters and summeries of the key themes, The Secret Garden Unfolded makes this famous tale accessible to a new generation of readers.

Becca Stadtlander was raised in Kentucky and received her MFA in illustration from the Maryland Institute of Art, This is her first picture book, She lives in Middletown, Rhode Island, .
