Pick Up In The Land Of Tea And Ravens Imagined By R.K. Ryals Shared As Digital Copy
had the pleasure of reading an ARC of In the Land of Tea and Ravens by R, K. Ryals. Come and join me for a cup of tea as I tell you about it,
Sometimes we have things in our life that are monumental, sometimes we choose these things, and sometimes they are passed down to us,
For Lyric Mason, "It began and ended with a cup, " "It was simply a cup, "
A cup that was the single most important thing in her life, a cup that connected her to her family, A cup that being tied to made her, in the eyes of the simple minds in Hiccup, Mississippi, an outcast, These townsfolk were afraid of the Mason women, they blamed them said they drove men mad, drove them insane,
What lengths would you go to in order to protect your family
"Protect the cup, Protect it "
Grayson Kramer, a boy working on his grandparents farm next door, is intrigued by Lyric, There's a brokenness about her, a pain he sees in the depth of her eyes, it's something he understands all too well,
"A girl with a tear on her cheek,
A girl surrounded by ravens,
A girl who drank tea with the dead, "
Brought together by feelings of guilt and pain and shame, Lyric and Mason embark on an romance against all odds, Lyric goes against her head and follows her heart, Sharing a piece of her history with him, . .
Grayson is confused, curious, and captivated by her, He continues to make promises and willingly follows her, . . anywhere, everywhere against her initial protests.
"I'll take you to a mad tea party that never ends, "
This story was hauntingly beautiful, The type of story that leaves you filled with hope and tiny bit of insanity,
"Well, there's a certain freedom to insanity, You should try it. "
When I hit the last page, I had tears in my eyes, a smile on my face and laugh bubbling in my throat, I had but one thought, one I share with Grayson,
"I think," he said after a moment, "I think I wouldn't mind another cup of tea.
"
"Why is it I'm suddenly obsessed with tea" I liked it, Wow, man the feels! I am speechless, . . Extraordinary doesn't even cover this superb book! This is one of those books that takes you into the land of deep feeling, leaves you there, open hearted and then fills you with beautiful and powerful emotions.
I'm not saying that this is a sad book, no, it's just emotionally raw and when you're reading it, you realise your humanity, you feel everything, you learn how beautiful living is and how the right person can help you heal.
You also learn that love, in all of its shapes, is one of the most powerful and one of the greatest human trait,
I cannot explain to you the experience of reading this beautiful book, You have to experience these kind of emotions at least once in your lifetime,
I am sure that you will definitely love the hero and the heroine and you will love their beautiful story,
This book is about ancient history and curses, family duty, guilt, pain, but also about memories, learning, acceptance, healing and exquisite love,
The mysterious and eerie feeling of this book will grip you from the start and won't let you go until you've reached the finish, To say it's gorgeously written, it's like saying the sun is just a little bright when you know that beautiful orb shines blindly, The writing flows like a crystalline river on shiny stones, it's not words, it's poetry!
Like I said this book is not sad, we have a beautiful HEA, so don't worry.
This is my first book by this author and I am in absolute awe, I am for sure, putting this author on my bookish radar,
To say I didn't expect to enjoy this book it's putting it mildly, I love it when I discover, little, beautiful, literary gems,
Yes, you have to read it, I know it and you know it!!!! In the Land of Tea and Ravens is an exquisite story written by R.
K. Ryals that stole my breath away, It's hauntingly beautiful and has a dark poetic feel that touches your soul, "Sometimes being broken can be beautiful, If we can't see the beauty in the pain, then we truly do go insane, "
Many Folklores are based on true events, but somewhere down the line a part of it becomes forgotten or skewed, For Lyric Mason her life takes on a whole new role as she must secure her families heritage and keep watch over the battered mug that has been handed down through generations.
Many of the people who live in the small town of Hiccup fear her and lay blame on the women in her family for causing men in town to go insane.
Hostility and irrational behavior from the towns inhabitants are only part of the danger Lyric faces, Grayson is persistant in trying to get to know Lyric, but she isn't sure she can let him in,
Grayson has been hiding from his guilt and pain while working at his grandmother's farm, He never expects to be captivated by the eccentric girl the town fears,
I loved the whole concept of this story, The shared pain and guilt that drew them together, The supernatural qualities the story emanates, It's a definite MUST READ,
"You stay away from them, you hear You stay away, They'll strip your soul bare and leave you to the devil, "
A remarkable story that leaves you breathless and stays with you, I hope the author decides to make this into a series because one cup is just not enough,
"You can tell a lot about a person by the way they take their tea, "
"Most people thought love was supposed to be this beautiful, amazing experience, full of nothing except laughter and joy and happily ever afters, True love isn't about the good times, Those were too easy. True love hurt. True love healed. " R. K. Ryals has done it again, She has written a truly breathtaking piece of art, Her soulful, southern charm caresses you and pulls you into her stories, The woman made drinking hot tea an intimate, sensual act between two people, Hot tea!
This story encompasses Southern folklore, mystery and intrigue with loss, heartache and love as only Mrs, Ryals can. Her writing speaks to me, It takes me to small country towns, farms and decaying buildings, It engulfs me in loss, pain and love, She paints the entire picture,
In The Land Of Tea and Ravens is a hauntingly beautiful tale with bits of fairytale, folklore, and romance, It will touch your heart and leave you with a hankering for a cup of tea,
A solid.Stars!
I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from this book, It's kind of a paranormal/modern day historical/new adult romance
I don't entirely know how to categorize it, It kind of reminded me of Practical Magic, actually,
It was a really great story, It was intriguing and very gripping, What knocked off for me was that I didn't feel like there was enough character development and romantic build up, Everything seemed to happen pretty quickly, I would have liked more interaction and more background with the characters, I liked how at the beginning of each chapter it tells the story of the Tea Girl because that gives us pretty good insight into where Lyric comes from.
However with Grayson all we have to rely on is what we're told within the story itself, which unfortunately isn't that much, I didn't feel his regret as much as I just read it,
Other than the character gripe, it was an overall good story and I will definitely read more books by RK Ryals, This is my third one and while it wasn't my favorite of the, I'd still really recommend it, .
