Receive The Inquisitive Guereza Monkey And The Post-Soviet East Bloc Abandoned Nuclear Power Plant Drafted By Rob Marsh Script
Guereza monkey is old, tired and has a dangerous propensity towards making horrendously bad decisions, If only hell listen to his friend, the Orange Obsessed Man, perhaps total nuclear annihilation can be averted This fun, humorous story is open to so many interpretations.
. .
You can choose to take it as a simple story about a monkey who gets into some trouble.
Sort of a parody of another famous "monkey" with a man who is also defined by the color he wears.
Or you can choose to see it as a story about relationships in general, There is trust between the man in orange and the monkey, But eventually curiosity gets better of the monkey and he betrays that trust, harming them both, Just like a relationship where there is mutual trust but one person strays and it destroys them, They are "blown up" but still standing, Hurt but alive.
OR you can choose to see it as a social critique of the how the world remains on the brink of war/disaster.
The man in orange can be seen as representing the west, with it's constant pursuit of material things.
The west has become so obsessed with getting MORE that we have essentially turned a blind eye to other growing world powers.
That is until we have something "blown up" in our face, until something happens that we cannot ignore.
. . Then we're left to clean up the mess, It may have been more difficult to take the monkey into the greenhouse than leave him outside to behave himself essentially to address these emerging powers before they start making their own destructive mark on the world.
But instead, the man takes the easy way out and leaves the monkey to his own devices these powers are ignored
until it is too late and it has drastic consequences for the west.
But again you choose how you want to interpret it, This is an all picture book with no words so use your imagination, The guy has a pet monkey who wakes him up, They eat watch tv then go on a trip, When the guy tells his monkey to stay put and not touch anything, the monkey of course doesn't listen and causes an explosion.
It's a short and interesting read, Well, this could be something as simple as a man and his pet take a vacation, The man tells his pet to stay and be good and the pet doesn't do as he is told and it ends badly for both.
If that is too simple we can get a little deeper and say the man represents western civilization.
It is said that as capitalist we always want more, are greedy, never satisfied with what we have and are willing it to take what we want with out caring about the consequences.
The monkey has many meanings and symbolizes several different things in many cultures, He has been seen as an embodiment of strength,a silvertongued talker ,balance and control, both change and resistance to change and is incredibly aggressive in conveying their position.
To me the monkey is a representation of those counties that we are in conflict with, The road leading to the nuclear plant and the green house branches off showing we are closer to the nuclear plant and impending doom then to the peaceful state of the green house.
The fact that said monkey has a mental debate about pushing the "red button " shows how easy and tempting to just push the button it really is and how frightened we should really be.
