A good beginners guide to exploring the serial killer phenomenon, Touching on many of the more prolific killers and their crimes, this book avoids being overly graphic or the use of jargon making it easy for readers new to true crime.
The chapters are short although do feature much of the more well known aspects of the crimes.
I would have liked to have seen more detail and perhaps further explanation into abnormal psychology, however the author acknowledges this book to not be exhaustive of the subjects.
Trying to understand how and why a serial killer can carry out their brutal and terrifying crimes against others is a topic of ongoing interest.

A book which brings together the psychological theory of criminal profiling with numerous examples from serial killers themselves, it is an interesting and informative read for those curious about the subject.

A book more for those new to the subject, it provides a solid overview populated by images which enhance the text.

Originally published as "Unmasking the Serial Killer" this book has been revised, edited and published under RJ Parker Publishing A well researched and competently written expose on some of the world's most notorious serial killers.
The writing is informative and articulate, but unimaginative, Perhaps the author feared making the story of these alltooreal monsters too lurid, but it would have been a more enjoyable read had the prose conveyed more of a stroke of genius.
