first reading the synopsis for the book I thought it was a fantasy, Having just finished reading it in my opinion it's more horror, Very pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book, Werewolves, vampires, possessions, god's, witches, what's not to like, Recommend to all horror fans, It's not you, it's me, . . My head is just not in the right place to be reading a book about demonic possession amp monsters so I noped the hell out of this one.
Interesting read
Easy to read and fun plot, Interesting turn of events as you get to know the characters, Couldn't put it down. Meh. Interesting storyline, but subpar writing, Imagine, your favorite paranomal/fantasy/sci fi tv shows mentioned or sort of mentioned in one book! It made me think of so many
of my faves, both tv, cable tv shows, like sci fi, fx etc and other types of my favorites all rolled into one single book.
I will be looking forward
to more books by this author Parallel to our world is a dimension known as the Other, the birth place of every nightmarish creature conceived of by humanity.
Its existence is a secret kept for centuries, But when Sarah's unit is torn to pieces by a mysterious creature in Afghanistan, she learns the truth, Vampires, werewolves, and all monsters of legend are very real, . . and they feed on
innocents,
Putting her military skills to use, Sarah joins the Roosevelt Society, a clandestine group devoted to ridding the world of the supernatural.
Fighting monsters helps Sarah push aside her nightmares, even as she struggles to hide a power that is building inside of her, a power she discovered on that dark day she lost her comrades.
But her problems are going to get worse,
A godlike entity, the likes of which the world hasn't seen in millennia, walks the streets of Denver, . . and he has a plan, With the help of an ancient machine designed by a long dead inventor, he'll bring back the days of old when magic ruled the Earth, gods walked among men, and humans were prey.
The Roosevelt Society has never stopped a god before, but they have to try, Failure means the end of the world or worse, and even success has a price, As Sarah fights the monster of all monsters, she has to avoid becoming one herself or risk losing her soul, For staring into the abyss of the Other is enough to put a hole through the heart,
Hole in the Heart is an urban fantasy, Contains violent situations. .
