Begin Your Journey With Sons Of The Devil, Vol. 2: Secrets And Lies Put Together By Brian Buccellato Provided As Electronic Format

a, almost a The premise is compelling. I actually like the sketchy art, I think the artist is good with composition, angles, dimension, scale.
There are the occasional badly quickly drawn panels, and the children are not so well drawn, Writing is good and bad, I like the concept, the dialog is oktogood, But a number of times I was confused about specific plot points or action sequences, which I think was down to the script more than the art.
Travis dad was David Daly, a cult leader from thes who made a deal with the Devil to sacrifice hischildren to bring him to Earth except a handful of kids survived.
Daly was killed and the kids grew up scattered around the country, Now,years later, someones picking off the remaining kids and Travis is on the list, Could Daly have survived somehow or is the Devil already here

The second volume of Sons of the Devil is a disappointing followup to the exciting first book.
Travis is meeting his surviving halfbrothers and sisters to warn them of their predicament while one of them is covertly working against him neither plotline moves very far.
Thats basically it for developing the plot!

The reader, who already knows, has to watch and wait for Travis to figure out who his therapist is, theres more tedious clichéd melodrama between Travis and his girlfriend Melissa, and more flashbacks to the night inin the cults compound where things fell apart which we already saw in the first book.
A couple of new

details are added to theflashbacks and theres also a handful of interesting pages right at the end but its not much.
This one is largely a repetitive and dull read,

The first volume and the premise are both great but this second volume does the title no favours by barely inching the story forwards and opting to unsatisfyingly tread water for nearly the whole book.
If youre gonna continue with this series, go into this one with rockbottom expectations! Dark, creepy, great art.
Looking forward to what I'm assuming will be the conclusion, Less world building, more interpersonal conflict, The artwork seems less developed, but still has some striking uses of color,.stars. Not bad but not good, Just mediocre. The writer went out to lunch,

Individual reviews:

sitelink, sitelink, sitelink, sitelink, sitelink Things speed up a bit toward the end but not very coherently.
Everybody looks guilty of something but plays as if nobody does, That gives us some poor dialogue lines where you just can't believe that considering the underlying tension the characters don't go at each other's throat.
Looks like a Dlist thriller with overplaying hasbeens,

Travis was rather a despicable asshole in vol,and the little improvement seen here still doesn't make me root for him one second, The other characters are even worse,
It's not so easy to appreciate a series where you dislike or don't care for anyone.

The best part are the flashbacks, possibly intense scenes alas downplayed by mediocre art,

Infante half kills the series with his rushedup brushy style, I sometimes wondered who was in the panel and that's clearly not a good sign,

Vol.held promises that vol.broke for the most part, I hate it when they do that,.Finally, this story became immersive and intense enough that I couldn't put it down, Volumetrickled on at a snail's pace but the issues thereafter certainly kick this story into high gear.
I'm definitely a fan now, this has quickly become one of my favorite books, . . and the art has become less of an issue for me as well, It's a gruesome tale, but it's one that horror/thriller fans will surely find to be quite enthralling.
Jennifer is secretly working for David to reunite hischildren, David wants to sacrifice them to the devil and Travis is the Chosen One, Travis must return to David of his own choice, So far it doesn't seem like it's going to happen any time soon,

Volumetakes us further down the rabbit hole, Travis's life gets more complicated, His Satanworshiping biological father sinks his hooks a little deeper, More people from the past turn up, Not much else to say except that I'm all in,
