Retrieve The Love Thing (Men Made In America 2 #20) Illustrated By Dixie Browning Presented As File

good. Modern The plot of this is basically Jane Eyre, if Rochester had met Jane when she was still at Lowood and gone a little Humbert Humbert but instead of being a complete creep he just sort of carries a torch for her, and when they meet up again when shes no longer jailbait by which I meanhe does all of the shitty Rochester things of alternately ignoring her and hitting on her very hard, randomly abandoning her in his massive isolated house, and forcing her to spend lots of time with his terrible girlfriend, as well as new things like sabotaging her car so she cant leave I assume Its kind of implied but not super clear and basically accusing her of prostituting herself.
The point is, the premise is so incredibly yikes that we could basically just stop there, but no,
I dont think that this premise was completely unsalvageable there are lots of romances in both literature and romance novels that do feature significant age gaps and people who first meet their love interest when shes very young with the exception of Emma, all of the ones that come to mind have a fairy strong gothic influence, which creates space for bad power dynamics in a way that straight romance doesnt.
There are also a tonne of romances where theres a significant financial imbalance between the hero and heroine,
Neither of these are insurmountable, But generally romance novels with these kinds of power dynamics attempt to even the playing field by giving the heroine brains, spunk, and is generally wise beyond her years, allowing her to more or less deal with the hero as an intellectual if not financial equal, as well as some sort of out in the end, be it a surprise inheritance, job offer, or alternative proposal so that the choice is her own.
Liza gets none of this, Liza is a child shes impulsive and immature, with no clear idea what her goals are, and is just generally a hot mess in the way that most twenty year olds are: when we first meet her shes in the midst of what is very clearly her first long term relationship which ends horribly, of course.
In contrast, Thatcher is a successful lawyer in his mid thirties whose got his shit together and more or less knows what he wants and how to get it.
Added to that the Lolita elementwhich is explicitly I saw you when you were fifteen and immediately fell in love but didnt do anything about it because thats how you get arrested rather than a much less yikes saw you when you were fifteen and felt bad for you, met you again as an adult and hot damnand it gets really bad real fast.

Anyway. This could have been not hot garbage, but instead the author did literally everything humanly possible to light it on fire.

Love Comes When You Need it Most

Liza Callahan's world had shattered in a single day.
First came the shock of losing her job, Then she found her boyfriend in the arms of another woman, But that wasn't all there had been a minor accident which had thrust her headlong into the arms of a perfect stranger.

Only Thatcher Hamilton wasn't really such a stranger after all, A relative of her stepmother, Thatcher had first seen Liza at her father's funeral, She had been a child then, on the verge of womanhood and far too young for him, Now she was older but was he any wiser

Only love could tell, : I skipped parts of the book, I didn't like the character's age as, I didn't like how her love interest liked her since she was, and he isyears older than her.
Couldn't he find someone his own age I didn't like how the poor character ripped up a check because she wanted to make it on her own.
It doesn't hurt to accept help, That annoyed me. The arguments between thefuture lovers were unrealistic and uncalled for, I was glad the story finally ended and major details emerged, Two for a super ending, Dixie Burrus was born on September,in North Carolinas Outer Banks, U, S.
