book Good short chapters, hard time following this story, because of all the spelling of the places and people were distracting, but felt it was a good story line with an unusual ending.
This book is a part of a serial which I wish would finish! Ivan has decided to study hard amp is annoying the librarian by constantly being in the library.
There is a new student, Carmen from Romania, She is allowed to work there amp discovers an amazing piece of paper which reacts to her blood, Yes, you need to read the book to find out how her blood gets on the paper, There is also another Romanian in the story, One of them could well be a terrorist, This is a brilliant read,
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start,
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable,
Great suspense and action with wonderful world building,
Can't wait to read what the author brings out next,
Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book this is my voluntary and honest review,
I received this as an ARC, The stories of Mila K, in these books continue to become more exciting, The young college professor is seeing more than her share of excitement, In this installment new characters are introduced and Mila can't decide how she feels about the police detective, The one thing the author does well is describe the cold of the area and it chilled me reading about the characters walking in the snow, The plot surrounding the secret parchment wasn't solved in this installment and there is a perilous cliffhanger, Now, I've got to wait for what happens! It's a fast read for me and the writing is tight with no lagging scene or character descriptions, Well written. I was surprised at how short this book was I've jumped into the middle of a series, and obviously it would make the most sense to read from the beginning.
However, there is enough here to piece together an outline of what has gone before, so I didn't feel too terribly lost,
The setting sounds lovely winter in Eastern Europe and is described well, The characters relate to each other realistically, and the mystery begging to be solved is drawn out just a bit, Thankfully I was able to read books three and four backtoback so I didn't lose too much of the storyline between release dates,
I received an ARC this review is my own, The Paper in the Library is the third book in The Mila K, Mysteries and is an intriguing read,
I enjoyed this book, The characters are developing well and there is an interesting new
mystery to be resolved, . . but that is what cliffhangers are made for!
I read and reviewed this book with no obligation, Better
Each book is better than the last, This one ended in a cliffhanger, I am curious to see what happens next, Christmas is just around the corner and the streets of Chernivtsi are blanketed with fluffy white snow and the annual Christmas market is in full swing,
After a few tumultuous months Mila has settled into life in Chernivtsi, she has her own place and is enjoying her classes and students and reconnecting with old friends.
She has even taken on the task of sorting through the collection of books and documents her predecessor, Natalia, left in disarray when she quit her position as department head, a position Mila now occupies.
Her once rebellious student, Ivan Popov, has become a model student, eager to graduate and spending hours reading the library,
Even Oleck, Ivans older brother is becoming a good friend, they text and chat occasionally, as he is always busy on assignments all over the country.
So, when he shows up to surprise her at a birthday party she is throwing for her dad, Mila is excited to see him,
The holiday season also brings some old friends back into Milas life, The new dean is her former advisor from her Ph, D. studies in Kyiv, Svetlana. Mila is thrilled to have Svetlana as her new boss, and along with Ania and Katia they quickly all become friends,
But sometimes things just never really settle down in Milas world, When Olecks new assignment keeps him in Chernivtsi, a quiet and unusual student starts working in the library and Mila gets a new secretary, things start to come to mind, memories are rekindled and Mila and Ania find themselves questioning the origins of the mysterious book collection that Natalia left.
What was in the part stored in the library Is there more to this than meets the eye
Can Mila figure this out And what exactly is she supposed to be looking for.
