This one had too much sex for the amount of story, but was otherwise competently written, I really think things should have progressed more than they did by the end of this book, and I had to skim chapterlong sex scenes, so I didn't get what I was looking for.
Not quite annoying enough to downrate it to a,, but it teeters on the edge, good story
An interesting story to read, Im looking forward to the next book in the theater, Im hoping that it will be just as good as this one, At my request I received a copy of this audiobook in order to give a fair and unbiased review.
Genre: Apocalypse harem with power cultivation
Power dynamics in harem: MC calls the shots
Explicit/adult material: Explicit.
Very well written.
Summary:
Finally reunited with his ex wife and child the group takes some time to rest, train their powers and get to know the settlement at the lodge.
But life can't stay peaceful forever however much the rest of the settlement wants to believe it will.
Narrators
Voice diversity: Good, Easy to follow and never monotone,
Pacing and intonation: Exceptional, The story and dialogue really comes to live and immerse you fully in the book and the scenes,
Sex scenes: Very well done,
Gabriel Michael and Katana Jones are expert narrators and it shows,
Overall:/stars.
The books strengths,
The writing is great, The suspense of travelling in a world without order and monsters everywhere is palpable,
The explicit scenes are well done,
The cultivation is naturally described and doesn't feel forced,
I love the pace, Fast paced action and intense explicit scenes, but slow paced relationship building and the explicit scenes make sense,
By now the girls are really coming into their own,
The narration
The books weaknesses,
I can't think of anything, Its a great listen.
Overall:./Disappointed
I read the first two books and expected three to be a continuation of two.
Come to find out it was a whole new story that referred to occurrences in previous books that I have not read.
What happened to book three of the other apocalypse cultivators It was great
Really enjoyed this book and story I hope there will be more I love how much depth there is the set
up is deep enough for this to be a long series I hope it will be Good Book Not Enough Plot Progression
Last book, they reach the lodge.
This book, they leave the lodge, Some character and relationship growth, including power development, but the overall plot was barely expanded upon, We're given a minuscule amount of additional info about the apocalypse, Based on plot development, this was about a third of a complete book, Can't put the book down!
It's, thrilling and exciting with plenty of action, horror and mystery.
Add in the characters, powers and cultivation, invading forces and a Mysterious Catgirl and I'm eager to read the next book! I fought to find my family.
Now, I'll fight to keep them,
