is nothing in this book that is not for free somewhere on the internet, All the usual 'sleep hygiene' nonsense and 'your staying awake because you are stewing about not sleeping' has no meaning to me, I have had insomnia since birth probably and fully conscious of it since the age ofwhen I used to complain everyday about not sleeping so that's circayears now.
I have lived under different regimes of bedtime and get up time including the armed forces so none of that makes
any difference to me.
I have also done CBT which is also flawed in that it emphasizes 'thinking about not sleeping' and all the other half truths and platitudes re sleep.
I have done a whole course twice over ofxminute mindfulness sessions re sleep, have had a dozen hypnotherapy sessions with a proper psychologist with a track record treating insomnia but no difference.
Contrary to all opinion at night don't go to bed thinking I wont sleep as I won't go to bed until I am sleepy, just wake up anything frommins to an hour later, then in a stupor for a few hours, get up for a few hours and go back to bed when I will probably sleep forhours or so.
The only thing that works for me is zopiclone which I will take judiciously and most certainly not every night, however, my doctor wants to stop myx tabs per month ration which will be a nightmare for me on the days I have to do something like driving.
Have also tried every possible herbal and mineral remedy, CBD oil, magnesium, melatonin with zero effect, As for doctors, I have just about given up thanks to the contempt they have for insomniacs and in some cases outright anger and disgust for having the temerity to not sleep.
This book may well be suitable for those who are new to insomnia or are under stress etc I dont know, Far from effortless, the journey to the sleep method of which I thought this flimsy confection of a book was all about, is arduous, One hundred and ten pages in, after lengthy outlines of what doesnt work e, g. laptops, pills and trying too hard, all interspersed with an abundance of bright white spacing some might say filler, we finally get to sixty eight pages of the cure.
The cure turns out to be advice such as replacing negative sleep talk with positive statements and discover a relaxation technique that works for you, all of which will no doubt be of help to some.
The books cover description of it as an incredible new cure for insomnia, however, is something of a stretch, The UKs NHS website offers much the same if not better insomnia beating information, presented succinctly in a mere two thousand words, rather than an over stuffed book, and with a very helpful audio link.

I have hadyears of intermittent bouts of insomnia but the lastmonths have been much worse, a walking zombie, Some very important lessons in here, The sleep hygiene ones I presume you can read elsewhere but the most critical lessons are gold dust, Night one after reading this I managed overhours and felt human at work again, NightI had a normal nights sleep, Rather than waking atin the morning, I had a flicker of waking up but rather than panicking, I quickly went back into a deep slumber.
Nightis tonight I am sharing a twin room in a hotel tonight prior to a fell race and I not filled with dread! Just an add on, that night didn't go so well but averaged nearlyh per night on thesince.
I have my life back! Wow! What an eye opening book!, Ive had chronic insomnia foryears, Sachas story is like reading about myself, the prescription pills and totally “letting insomnia rule my life completely”, Not any , this book has been the only thing that has worked for me,Fear of sleeping was my main problem along with all the negative thinking and behaviours that take over.
This method has totally changed the way I think and behave to enable me to finally get rid of the “monster insomnia” for good, to which I thought I could never do, I gave up.
So glad I found this book, its been a total life saver, Please try it, you have nothing to loose and lots to gain, In the lastdays I have slept betweenhours on eight nights!, bloody eight nights!, I never didbefore!, Im so pleased with my progress, and I now have faith in myself, looking forward to my EX INSOMNIA life thats full of exactly that LIFE, real happy not putting thing off life, where I think “ everything will be ok, expect the best and bring it on”.
Please give a go. I agree with what people have said about how badly written this book is, and the author is extremely patronising to the reader, The basic essence of the book and the actual 'sleep method' can be summarised in only a few pages and it does often feel like she's dragggggggged it out just to fill up a decent number of pages to form a book.
BUT, I do like a lot of the tips that she gives and find that they do make a lot of sense, Having put them into practice for aboutweeks now, I'm really happy to say that my sleep quality has definitely improved, HOWEVER, I'm not sure how well this will work for hard core insomniacs though who have struggled with sleep long term or who may be struggling with other medical issues/illness which impact their sleep.
I know that before my thyroid issues were diagnosed and I got on proper medication for it, NOTHING worked for my terrible sleep then, so I think there are many instances where it isn't quite as easy as this book makes it out to be.
So I personally believe that this book might be better suited to people who have bad sleep but due mostly to bad sleep hygiene and overall lifestyle habits.
Worth a try, but definitely be prepared for how badly written it is it's not something you would read to enjoy the style / prose!
