the feature film and was intrigued by the story so I bought this and the followup book making the case against the prime suspect whowill sadly never stand trialToo bad the various departments involved couldnt cooperate and share informationMight have solved this years agoI share a birthday and the ability to write with either hand with Arthur Lee AllenCreepy Awesome read Especially if you're into true crime andor the Zodiac killer It is however biased and leans towards one specific suspect The book is what the movie Zodiac was based on and is written by Robert Greysmith It's based on his sleuth work during the times of the killings Though it is biased and based on his findings and what he's tied together through his own investigative work mixed with police reports etc there is tons of great information and hard facts about the Zodiac his crimes If you have ever thought about buying the book but didn't do yourself a favor and grab a copy Im still pretty earlier into the chapters but theres a ton of information in this book that paints a picture of the possible perpetrator that I had no clue about Granted Ive not read a ton of books about this case but Ive seen uite a few documentaries and didnt see in any of them such solid leads that paint a picture of someone who is not perhaps as smart as originally thought who may have gotten inspiration from a movie who was almost certainly in the military I knew this one was a possibility but didnt realize its all but confirmed by his boot printsas a therapist Im very interested in understand human behavior and this book is giving me a much clearer picture of who this fiend was and what made him tick I hope with the new advances in genetic genealogy being used in law enforcement they will finally be able to give him a name whether or not hes still alive I bought this book for a book report paper I needed to write for college I loved the Zodiac film by David Fincher and this was written by Robert Greysmith who was a consultant on the film Great story full of suspense and still is an unsolved case in the San Francisco area I watched the movie and immediately ordered the book I couldnt put it down and neither will you The only cons I didnt receive the original cover but the cover with movie poster Also upon discovering many Zodiac podcasts I found out that the book is incredibly biased and focuses mostly on one possible suspect but of course thats how it goes when youre reading the opinions of the author If you want to really dive deep you may want to start here and go further with other Zodiac inspired authorspodcasts Robert Graysmith's New York Times bestselling account of the desperate hunt for a serial killer and his own investigation of California's unsolved Zodiac murders A sexual sadist the Zodiac killer took pleasure in torture and murder His first victims were a teenage couple stalked and shot dead in a lovers' lane After another slaying he sent his first mocking note to authorities promising he
