lived twice in Paris for extended periods, I came to recognize and love the French joie de vivre as Mme Aki describes, It was a relaxing read to revisit many of my favorite haunts, To sense I was back in Paris and France, The last third of the book is focused on women's issues, but its still worth the read, "Joie" von Ajiri Aki ist eines der schönsten Coffee Table Books, das ich seit Langem gelesen habe, Nicht nur der Einband in Hellblau mit goldener Schrift ist einfach nur zauberhaft, auch die vielen Fotos und Gedanken der Autorin, rund um ein "gutes" Leben sind schön zu lesen.
Ein bisschen Bildband, ein bisschen Reiseführer, ein bisschen Lifestyle, Mode und Interiour Design, ein bisschen Kulinarik I love books about Paris, having been fortunate enough to visit the city twice.
Reading a book about this amazing city, written by someone who looks like me and feels the same way, lifted my enjoymentfold, Ajiri Aki's matter of fact enjoyment of life in Paris made Joie such a joy to savour,

This book is absolutely the most beautiful book that outlines France in a nutshell, My daughter and I went to France inwith her French class, Though we were rushed through what seemed like the entire country as part of a tour group, we managed to escape to explore Paris, Versailles, the Loire Valley and Leonardo di Vincis home in Amboise.
The people are fascinating. We even found a little corner patisserie near Château du Clos Luce that makes marzipan fruits like my mother made when I was a little girl, Ive wanted to go back for years to explore the beauty of France without being rushed, Enjoy this book and dont rush through it, It is pure Joie. This book is absolutely breathtaking in every single way, from the images, to the commentary, to the interviews, to the author, I own just about every Francophile book out there, and Joie not only tops them all, it blows them all out of the Seine River water! The intention, the love, the practical yet poetic literature, the stunning photos, Ajiris talent for beauty and magic, its all put into this book.
As a fellow Texan and lover of all things Paris, I truly couldnt be proud of the author for creating such a masterpiece, This woman is a star, Joie: A Parisians Guide to Celebrating the Good Life : Aki, Ajiri: : Books,
