on Your Pinkie Is More Powerful Than Your Thumb: And 333 Other Surprising Facts That Will Make You Wealthier, Healthier and Smarter Than Everyone Else
love random trivia. To be honest, the author was very interesting, and I liked his tone of voice in the book.
There were many facts that I knew, which is why it is rated a, however, overall, it was awesome and I can't wait for another in the series! This book is perfect for those of us who consider ourselves trivia buffs.
It has a lot of little known facts and ideas, some of which are practically useful.
Others are just very interesting and might be useful one day, : I don't really care if I become wealthier, etc, than everyone else I just love learning new things and I think this book sounds really interesting!
It just wasn't that compelling.
Most of the facts were, . . mildly interesting at best. A few were worth reading aloud, but most others weren't worth reading to yourself, The title fact, about your pinkie and your thumb, didn't actually say that the pinkie was more powerful and didn't impress me.
I finally finished this one! It took constant plugging along, and I could only handle it in small chunks at a time.
Not that the book was boring, It was just a bit of information overload, Much of it was about facts I would never think of to know or even research, which may be why it seemed too much all at once.
A few things I would have been fine never knowing, But I found a lot of it rather interestingfindings taken with a grain of salt because most was based on statistics which to me weren't strong enough to draw, well, stronger conclusions.
Ah, but I do love statistics, which probably made this book more enjoyable for me, I don't know about how much I read that will actually stay in my brain, I think my life will be OK if I don't remember the facts, though I would like to retain thoughts pertaining to certain aspects of living.
The entire time I read this book, I felt it was something my dad or my brother would lovesince they tend to like a lot of "useless" trivia.
Fun facts A book on trivia, Informative, well researched, with lots of statistics, Maybe too much. And some of the entries are a bit brief, On the whole, I did enjoy this book, Some of the information was fun, but it seems like much of it will become dated quickly.
Additionally, the content came across as scattered a collection of miscellaneous facts shoehorned into broad categories, yet the last chapter is still reserved for the miscellany that couldn't fit elsewhere.
It's ALL miscellany! And so, the format didn't make it feel like any of the content was worth learning or knowing.
Not quite as good as the "Uncle John's Bathroom Reader" books, but still interesting enough to trivia buffs.
Oh, I just loved this collection of wacky facts and truly surprising tidbits, I must have read/of this book aloud to my husband because I just had to share in the awe! This is the perfect type of book to keep in a place where you might have a few minutes at a time for reading.
. . I know where that place is in my household, : I thought this was fun quick, easy to pick up and read a little and then put down until later.
