book is a historical/ghost/mystery novel and I really liked it,

The main characters of the book arrive at a mansion to find a very strange trophy room.
The contents of the trophy room take them straight into an early's mystery that has long time ago gone cold.


I loved the historical aspect of the book, I love books that are set in that era.
I also thought that the characters had very good chemistry with each other, sometimes I found that the way they spoke to each other was a little formal or odd but they all spoke like that so perhaps that's because of accent/background.


I found that even though the author says this is a stand alone mystery I really want to read the first book.
I just felt that I had no history on the characters and kind of felt like I jumped into the middle of a book.
I really felt that I needed to know how the characters knew each other, where they were from, ages, what they looked like and Shannon's past with speaking to ghost, it just seemed to come out of nowhere.


I will in the future read the rest of this series, I really enojoyed this book, There were places in the book where I was certain I had the mystery solved but new twists

arose.
It kept me so curious through the whole book that I read it in a day and a half.
