me understand how the low carb diet actually works and got me back on track! This book explains in easytounderstand terms how our bodies respond to what and when we eat.
It's informative and inspiring. The writer's sense of humour is a little corny but endearing, All in all, i would recommend this book as part of the process of learning about what eating plan works better for me and you.
I have always been a fan of low carb diets, Not for any real scientific reason but because that is the diet that I have always seen the most remarkable results.
My problem has always been my all or nothing approach though I can't avoid all carbs long term and then I end up slipping more and more carbs in.
This book gives some real chemical explanations for why low carb diets work, This book also is broken into two sections one dealing with the physical aspects of diet and one with the mental aspects of diet.
Inevitably the low carb diet is what I always return to, It works, I feel good and it does not involve any type of calorie counting, Keep in mind my protein is still a lean protein base, It does not consist of sausage, bacon, kielbasa etc, . . Although the authors attempt at being cool annoyed me "lolz", seriously no one ever says that, I liked the way the concepts were explained.
And although I had already implemented many of the concepts already, I just had to make a couple more changes and I actually started losing weight.
Finally! I've been trying for so long,
I think reading this book was a turning point for me, john and i wound up on the same page somehow, i've lostpounds over the last two years, with anotherto go in the next few months.
i took a year off halfway and just maintained my weight when my house burned down, i've researched online and read over a hundred diet books all free on my kindle in the past few months and john's exuberant plan for losing fat is the closest i've come to the successful 'plan' i've created for myself.
i 'automate' two meals and two snacks a day two veggie with fruit smoothies and two fruit with veggie smoothies most days.
i also talk to my overeater, little susie, the skinny kid who could eat more than any two adults and made everyone laugh and clap their hands with glee at her precocity.
when we are driving, and susie pipes up about McDs double cheesburgers i tell her that we are trying to save money and lose weight, so if she can just wait until we get home she can eat ANYTHING in the fridge, and as much as she wants.
yep, out loud. works every single time. nowadays she doesn't even notice the golden arches,
fortunately i've always liked fruits, vegetables, nuts and beans and ribeye steaks, how did that get in there i eator more vegetarian now, instead ofKrap, Getting organic produce from a local coop, thinking about buying a couple of chickens for fresh eggs.
our town allows two chickens as 'pets, ' oh, and i'm not kidding about the ribeye, it's my TGIF gift to myself every friday night.

the point of all this is that i've been concerned about my momz health for a while, she's diabetic and on oxygen.
