D III: Paradise Lost by Koji Yanahgi is a decent continuity of his Unite D series, which star a bunch of Japanese spies and their mysterious leader who is only known as Demon King.


Like the prequels before it, the four short stories within Paradise Lost take place during WWII, the war among different spies are still satisfyingly written and entertaining although as a Chinese whose country had once suffered eight long years of bloody battles with the Japanese imperial army during both SinoJapanese War and WWII, unsurprisingly I don't find some of the

spies' justification for their missions and action endearing.


But don't worry, it's not a propaganda for Imperialism the Demon King forbade his spies to kill people or seek a glorified death for themselves and he even thought an allout war is a stupid idea the author focuses more on the 'game of wit' aspect of the spies' activities and the internal struggle of reason, loyalty and emotion the spies have gone through when they tried to accomplice their missions.

他本來是我的參考書可是我應該會自己再去收一套但我看完之後知道為什麼哈尼跟我說最後再看所以我就後悔了你這是叫我怎麼回去看勒卡雷不勒卡雷其實還好就是硬了點但我的參考書單上真的有很多無聊的書啊嗚嗚
好吧那先不管這一系列真的很好看短篇小說的集合他的設定就註定了這就是大秀說故事技巧的小說雖然也不到炫技的程度不過這做法真的很有趣而且柳廣司的確非常會說故事再然後我本來沒有特別應該說雖然說我覺得很好看但還算一般程度可是第三集的最後一篇最後一篇
看到倒數幾段時真是有種喜歡到不知如何是好的感覺浮出太可怕太可怕了D機關的特務們,/誰可以相信誰不能相信
