Unlock The Secrets Of Mildreds Married Life (Mildred Keith, #4) Composed By Martha Finley File Format Publication Copy
the whole series gives new insight into the Elsie Saga, . . ordered these one by one as read from Amazon finished the entire series summerstill need to read Martha Finleys Elk Creek which I also own and is supposed to be about her life Mildred and Charlie Landreth, the proud parents of a baby boy, have settled into quiet domestic life.
An invitation from cousins Horace and Elsie to visit the Oaks, near Roselands, brings Charlie, Mildred, and her youngest sister, Annis, to spend the winter in the sunny South.
Family gatherings, studies, visits to Ion, daily walks, and pony rides fill up Annis and Mildred's days before the visitors return home, I'm currently reading this book, but so far, it's pretty good because it's a little bit out of the way of "Mildred this, Mildred that" and I wanted a little something more interesting to read about.
Now the focus is more centered on Elsie Dinsmore and Mildred's sister, Annis, while they're away in the south, Mildred, her husband, baby son and youngest sister go to spend the winter with their relatives and friends in the American south, Though this is a book in the Mildred series, it tends to follow Annis and Elsie more than Mildred, which makes sense for the intended audience, but is a bit disappointing.
It is still a solid period piece and slice of life story, but the title seems a bit off, Mildred's Youngest Sister or Mildred's Winter Holiday would have been more appropriate.
Anyway, fans of Elsie and Mildred will enjoy this next chapter in their stories, Content notes: No language issues, though younger readers may need help with the phonetic spelling used to convey accents, No sensuality issues, married couples kiss on page and families kiss each other, but never inappropriately, Characters are punished for misbehavior which sometimes includes spanking or whipping as it was then called, but more often they are essentially given "time outs" it is always explained why they are being punished and the parents are shown disliking punishing their children, but care enough about them to do it.
