should have been so much better than that, One character seemed to be nothing more than a superrich frankly halfboring dogooder, The other was just compulsively incapable of just speaking with her son, that she treated as if he were stilloryears old instead ofhonestly she deserved every small wrong doing her son did.
She did not communicate with her former husband either, though they allegedly went to marriage counselling, And she did not try communicating with her new neighbor for whom she had the hots, despite her having a conflict with him,
Too short story to be really developed, difficult to like and understand characters and limited character development except in the kid,
I won't look forward another book from this author, "Under different circumstances, Meredith Lange was someone he would've wanted to see more of, But all he wanted right now was to see her gone, "
Oh, it's a funny thing when paths collide, Or even when fate steps in,
Meredith and her teenage son were left with a mess after her late husband left them with tons of debt and broken hearts.
The only thing she still had was a getaway cabin and the start of a new life,
Too bad that cabin already had a new owner, . . Jed Banks. He wasn't going to let someone take away the dreams he had
for that land, and that cabin, Even if he couldn't get this certain woman off his mind,
"I'm sorry we didn't meet under better circumstances, "
"Me, too. "
"I don't know whether you heard or not, but I'm building a camp, That's what I wanted the land for, I'm not some rich jerk looking to take your cabin, "
"I'm not some spoiled rich woman wanting to keep a vacation home, "
"I never thought you were, "
This was a great story about learning to live again and forgiveness, A story of a mother just trying to do everything she can for her son, And a man doing all he can for struggling youth,
Really good book for all!!
"Will you have lunch with me later"
"I think I can fit you in, "
"And how about dinner"
"That's a strong possibility, "
"I'm all about possibilities, "
This short story starts off with a a case of if you didn't have bad luck you would have no luck, This poor young widowed woman with a son feels she is a double loser already when it comes to men because the second man she allowed to get close to her heart wrapped his car around a tree in a drunken stooper.
After, puuting her so far in gamblers debt she can't see the light of day, Her only thing left is the cabin gifted to them by her parents so she moves there with her son, Now to find out after she is all moved in said husband sold it after forging her signing her name to all the paperwork, Now, handsome new owner wants her out, Hmmm does that happen You have read this sweet read, Heartbreaking at times too. But very good. Sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, Meredith moved her and her teenage son from her city home to her family's cabin in a small town after the death of her husband and losing everything because of his gambling debts.
Shortly after getting there, she meets her neighbor, Jed, who 'bought' her cabin and land, So he takes legal steps to evict her then finds out that he was swindled by Meredith's husband and doesn't really own the land, Jed and Meredith are attracted to each other and try to get past the conflicts they have had,
I really liked the story line and the part about Jed's Youth Assisting Youth program, The writing flowed perfectly and I just kept reading without putting it down, The characters were very well developed, I really felt a connection with Meredith and her problems, I admired her determination to get past the mess her life turned into and try to provide a home for her son, Her son hated her, well all adults, but that's what teenagers do hate their parents, Jed was a nice man with his involvement with kids but I didn't feel like I knew him very well, Good Story
This author is new to me and I thought the story was good, The characters were well thought out too, But there were parts of this story that were hard to read because final edits were not done thoroughly and proofreading wasnt done well either.
Im an avid reader and expect to see a mistake or two but not ten or more, The editor in my opinion getsstars, Eine tolle und erfrischende Geschichte für zwischendurch,
A sweet novella to promote the Youth Assisting Youth program, There isnt a lot of depth to the story, it is a novella, but the author did a great job getting her message across,
I liked the characters and they way they handled the challenges they had to face, Plus, the ending was really sweet, A real feel good story, This book was a nice fast read, I felt bad for Leo and Meredith, To have someone basically steel from you to feed there addiction regardless of what it is, is terrible, I loved the part where Leo defended his mother in his ownyear old way, The story felt rushed at some point and sort of lacking, Jed wanted Meredith and his camp, Of course you saw the route that issue was going to take, It was a good storyline but it was all very cookie cutter and fast, Epitomizes what is wrong with novellas,
Too shallow, too trite, too quick, Just too many things wrong,
There was nothing horrible about it there was just nothing good about it, either,
More of a promo piece for a teen program,
There were also formatting issues, misspelled words and run together words, In Good Neighbors, Meredith Lange hopes that she and her son can start over in Icicle Falls, Washington, Her family's cabin is the only thing she's got left after settling her late husband's gambling debts, But on the first night in her new home, Jed Banks shows up, claiming to be the cabin's rightful owner, Then her son, Leo, starts getting into trouble at school,
Jed offers to help Leo adjust to life in Icicle Falls, His charitable organization, Youth Power, pairs up troubled kids with a responsible teen mentor, But how can Meredith accept Jed's help He may be a devoted advocate for young people and a very attractive man, but he's also trying to take away her home.

Visit the Harlequin More Than Words website at www, HarlequinMoreThanWords. com or your favorite ebook retailer to download these free novellas today, A quick novella that comes in atpages on Goodreads, Rarely I can find a novella that I enjoy enough to give it a high rating, Usually there isnt enough to the story to grab on to, but this one surprised me, The only downfall to the story was the Hero, I didnt quite connect to him as much as I would have liked, Another beautiful story by Sheila Roberts,
Poor Meredith is left to pick up the pieces of her broken life after the death of her husband, His death leaves her a single parent to her young son and his enormous gambling debts leave her without a penny to her name and no choice but to move into their vacation cabin, the only property she has left to call home.
Or so she thought. When Jed Banks shows up at her front door one night to find out what she's doing in HIS cabin her life takes another nosedive.
Good Neighbors has a wonderful storyline and great characters, It was heartwarming to read along as Meredith put the pieces of her life back together and learned how to trust again, There isn't a villain to be found anywhere in this story and sometimes that's exactly what you need in a book! Icicle Falls strikes again.
How could things ever go badly there
If you've never read a Sheila Roberts book, Good Neighbors is a great place to get acquainted.
