you're looking to take the pain and friction out of selling and be perceived as a genuine consultant that can helpand not a pushy salesperson that just wants a paycheckthen you should read this book.
While this book is written mainly for sales professionals, it applies to anyone that needs to sell their products or services as one of the many "hats" they wear in their business which is just about everyone who is in business for themselves, whether they're a marketing consultant or lawyer.
This book covers many techniques and strategies that will help with your prospecting, such as, . .
How to immediately get people's attention in your first meeting,
A great way to keep a prospect from hanging up on you before you even get a chance to explain why he should listen to you.
How to create the perception that you are a topflight professional, not a desperate salesperson,
Like anything else, becoming a good salesperson takes a lot of practice, but this book will speed up the process considerably,
Please keep writing books, Niall! One of the best sales books I have ever read along with facetoface selling, This guy has loads and loads of practical information regarding making people believe you, I am an individual life insurance salesman, and if you are closingout of, then this book will help you to triple it, Get it without even thinking about it, Very observant.
Enjoyed the author's insight, I plan to incorporate some of the examples in my daily life to see if I can get the same results, It's like Jedi mind tricks revealed! I am so glad I have come across this book, It is very useful, truly realistic and very easy to read, I am amazed at how I was able to read so many chapters within a shorter span of time because I was very much interested in the secrets being revealed in every page!
Working as a nurse administrator I need to influence many patients, staff and not to mention the whole health care team and this book has helped me understand the dos and donts in persuasion.
I was really amazed by the “cold reading” skill and it had given me goose bumps because I have had people who have actually applied the same cleverness to me wherein they succeeded in getting what they want! I will truly try those three Bs out in my day to day negotiations and see if I can master it.
This would be a good gift for my self help book lover friends, Its a shame that I have only found this now when Christmas has passed already, I will just have to give it to them on other occasions, I am looking forward to your next book, I wish I could rate this book at a,but not a., because that would push me to round up to aand I can't make that kind of commitment,
The content and the messages that were delivered were great, insightful, and a lot of help, Maybe I'm being picky, but I wasn't crazy about the writing style, and while the main gist of a lot of conversations presented in the book were realistic, I couldn't help but think that most of them sounded to cheesy.
An easy read with a lot of insight, I highly recommend, Even if I could only give itstars, This was won in a giveaway by goodreads,
Probably one of the worst books I have read, It tries to be a self help manual on the precept that you can sell anything if you follow his instructions, just begs the question why is it self published and obviously hasn't even been proofread.
Eyeopening and insightful and written in a very relaxed storytelling style with examples cited that are amusing even though they are helpful in understanding how the human psyche works and what steps are needed to get others to listen to what we have to say.
Mr. Cassidy has obviously done a lot of research to put
this work together and the statistics and examples help to solidify the facts, like the mention of JK Rowling and how she'd struggled to get her book published but was unable to because she was a noname.
The book shows what a herdmentality most people have and the case for "looking" important and how to break away from the mold of "nosuccess".
But this is not all that the book has to offer, Although I am not an investor, I can see that the information is useful for investors, And as a mother I can even see how I could even use the information here to influence my own kids!
Having said this, I find the book crucial for people in sales as it walks through the need to feel positive and the steps to achieve these goals, something particularly needful for those who might face setbacks due to negative comments, or temporary uphill battles when in sales.
This book is stacked with good advice and practical examples to help the reader learn the art of influencing others, I enjoyed reading this book and will be recommending it to a few of my friends, I received this copy free from Goodreads :
The only real criticism I have stems from the diction I would guess that the writer's first language is not English, and an expert editor would take this book from good to great.
Depending on your point of view, this book could be perceived as either a Machiavellian manual on how to manipulate people, or a strategic look at promoting yourself and your goals.
The language is a little skewed sometimes, as though a nonnative speaker of English wrote it, but since it's a howto manual, and not a "work of art," all is forgiven.
The author makes his points in clearlydefined chapters and subheadings, He reinforces his points with relatable stories that push understanding,
If you are looking to get a positive response to a job interview, or increase your sales figures, this book is for you.
If you are an unscrupulous person who wants to manipulate people to further nefarious ends, this book is also for you, Ultimately, the reader has to decide what to do with this information, I won this book from a Goodreads First Reads giveaway, Although the author does make some interesting points, this book is in serious need of an editor, The grammatical errors were numerous and distracting, I found the storytelling method trite at times but there were also some useful insights into human nature, This book is practical and to the point, I like how Niall has used a story to get the points across, If your work involves selling then you must read this book, Persuasion is an art and this book will teach you how to persuade and be in control of the communication, The only thing which needs improving is the proofreading otherwise I would have given it five,
Recommended for professional growth! Very nice Niall brings in cutting edge research on how our brains work and mixes it with down to earth examples of how to put this knowledge into practice.
Niall presents easy to remember, learn, and use methods that work with how people think, to help sales people help customers make good decisions.
Along the way I learned many things that had been mysterious, such as exactly how fortune tellers convince people they have magic knowledge, Anyone who is involved in an occupation where you need to influence other people will be able to make very good use of this book.
This edition is no longer in print, A new edition is available here: sitelink goodreads. com/book/show/ This edition of THE ART OF INFLUIENCING ANYONE Reprint Edition is MUCH better than the previous one due to the extensive editing in the language/syntax/punctuation.
The book provides lots of interesting information, relatable examples, and practical advice which can be applicable to many different situations we all face, I'm definitely going to be sharing this one,
I like the new cover too it feels positive, outgoing, and is eye catching,
This book was provied free following a review of the previous edition that had been won on Goodreads Firstreads,
When I purchased The Art of Influencing Anyone, I wanted to improve and confirm my approach with potential customers, I found the book did just that, Giving me step by step guide lines from and introduction to leaving closing the deal, I have reread the book to help pick up points that I missed the first time that I read it, Found plenty of information to improve on, You may want to avoid it but sooner or later you have to pick it up, You will be reading this book if you want to prepare for a better career, The Art of Influencing Anyoneby Niall Cassidy is a book that can benefit people from all walks of life, In particular this would be an excellent book for those in the area of selling,
I enjoyed reading this book and found it to be very much in the mould of a famous book first published intitled, How to Win Friends and Influence People.
The author, Dale Carnegie was so successful that he sold over,,copies, and the worldwide courses based on his books were still very popular in thes when I attended.
Similarly, to Carnegie, Cassidys book is very well written, with an easy to follow style, using anecdotes, analogies and case studies to illustrate points.
Also in Carnegie style he draws on wellknown historical characters in this case Edison, Van Gogh, Picasso, Julius Caesar and others to press home his points.
In demonstrating the effective use of persuasion, Cassidy has centred his book round a main character, Scarlet, This has added to the easyread of his book and provided for a well constructed beginning, middle and ending,
As an honest reviewer I would consider this book on presentation and readability to justify astar rating, However, this type of book always begs the most important question to the content: “what is the writers expertise” While there are some passing references throughout the book to the authors experience as a salesman, he needed to set out this experience length and type and relevant qualifications in a biography.
For this type of book the inclusion of a biography is paramount in order to establish credibility, Without a biography I can only justify astar rating, Secondly, in an educational book of this type a glossary of terms would be very useful, For instance, after having read the book I might want to remember and clarify some of the strategies like cold reading,
Overall, I found this book to be well written, provoking thought about how we communicate with others and suggesting better processes, It is a book I can recommend, The ideas are very practical, much better than many other books, The Art of Influencing Anyoneby Niall Cassidy is a book that can benefit people from all walks of life, In particular this would be an excellent book for those in the area of selling,

It's a very practical book! As a former business manager I can sincerely say that this books changed my business life.
The author is very meticulous and helpful all over the book, He really instruct you to get over your problems and to increase your selling productivity, If you are in a consultant position, you cannot miss this, In the spirit of Robert Greene's Art of Seduction/War/Power trilogy, The Art of Influencing Anyone takes a deep look into human psychology and applies it to successful advancement in the real world.
Whether it's to nail a job interview, promote a business, or making a stunning first impression, mastering the art of persuasive language serves us all at some point in our lives.
The book breaks down persuasive dialogue into bulletpoint strategies, illustrated with clear, reallife examples, interspersed with light humor, so it is enjoyable to read.
Every strategy cites a historical or psychological precedent, so the book is brimming with interesting factoids in addition to seductive strategy,
This book presents invaluable doctrine to all readers because it cultivates an awareness to think critically, rather than emotionally, which was sorely underemphasized in my own schooling experiences.
