For you cleanreaders: this one does have a bit of mature content.

I really enjoyed this audiobook, Cited as a new version Pride and Prejudice by many people, I had never read it so i can't comment on any similarities, I can say that this historical romance had me enthralled from the opening scene where Elizabeth is demonstrating her independence to the ending where everything turns out as it should.
What happens in between is romantic, exciting, and funny, The language is true to the time and the characters are captivating and engaging, The narrator is expert at create a multitude of representations to further enhance the characters,

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, This was an wonderful retelling of the beloved 'Pride and Prejudice' that we all know so well, It can be hard to find a story that is not only well written but rewrites the story in such a way that the events that come to pass are a surprise, rather than a well known part of the story.

Darcy was wonderfully written, still in the manner that Austen created him but also more outwardly feeling because of the different circumstances that come to pass in this novel.
Elizabeth was also very well done, true to her character and also a more worldly woman who has had a whole separate life before meeting Darcy,

All in all, a very good novel and I would recommend it to anyone who desires to read a PampP retelling, This is definitely my favourite P, O. Dixon book so far. I enjoyed the story between Darcy and Ben, it was so sweet!

I had my conflicts about the Elizabeth, Darcy and George Collins triangle, I was obviously in support of the canon couple, but I couldn't help but think how mad I would be if it was a Elizabeth, Darcy and Caroline triangle with Caroline acting as Darcy was in this book.
I'm glad what happened in Kent did,

I was satisfied with Anne's story line, but disappointed with Jane's and Mr, Bennet! I so loved this book, there were times where I actually got teary,

This is an off canon revisit of P amp P where Lizzy is a widow with a small child before she meets Darcy, She is living with her parents and sisters and is facing difficult choices, She recently became engaged to Mr, Collins, the elder brother of Rev, Collins. She is doing what is best for her son but not her heart, She and her father have fallen out and she feels friendless and insecure,

The relationship between Darcy and Lizzy's son is just so sweet and thoughtful he a man who lost his father showing kindness to a little boy who has suffered the same.
This is bookin Dixon's Darcy and the Young Knight's Quest series which is a take on the classic Pride and Prejudice, I don't consider myself a super fan of the classic but of the twist on this classic I've listened to or read thus far I believe this has been my favorite.
A well written, excellently narrated read that flows beautifully, Amazing characters the intro of Ben's character in this read as well as the twist on the classic of Camelot make this a completely enchanting read / listen from start to finish!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Different Pride and Prejudice variation than I've read, Lizzy married early to a young wealthy man, Randall Carlton, in her surrounding area that grown up with each other, Her father was not happy about this marriage, because he thought she was too young, and her young man is definitely too young at nineteen, He says he has not had time to show his wild oats, and when he leaves her she will not be welcomed back to Longbourn.
Within a month of her marriage, her young husband was killed in an accident, and her fatherinlaw picks her up from Bath where she and Randall were living, she continues to live at Camberworth, his father's residence in Hertfordshire, he hoping she was by chance with child.
Well she was pregnant, and nine months later her son and Mr, Carlton's grandson was born. He named her son Bennet Randall Carlton, Mr. Carlton has buried two wives, and he is lonely, He has treated Lizzy and Ben well, but marries Ben's nurse, Carlton sets her up with a nice pension, and Ben will have a sustainable inheritance when he reaching his majority, Things go alone fine until Carlton dies, When his estranged son comes to collect his rightful place, he brings many friends whose lives are filled with debauchery, Lizzy and Ben leave for Longbourn hoping her father will allow to take her in, Well her sisters, with exception of Jane, are enthralled with Ben as is Mrs, Bennet so Lizzy is given a room, . Ben is a very bright and precocious four year old and meets Darcy, King Arthur, to Ben's Sir Lancelot, Darcy is impressed with Ben's knowledge of the Arthurian Tales of the Knights of the Round Table, This precocious child is a wonderment to Darcy, and he is captivated, Jane convinces Lizzy to join them to the Meryton Assembly, Finally after much debate, she goes, Here she meets the Bingley group and she and Darcy have an immediate attraction each other thinking the other is their soul mate, When Jane takes sick at Netherfield, Lizzy goes to take care of her sister, When Bingley introduces her as Mrs, Elizabeth Carlton, Darcy is beside himself, When he finds out later that she's a widow, he breathes a bit better, Mr. Geoffrey Collins set to inherent Longbourn on Mr, Bennet's death has come to choose a wife amongst the daughters, Again, Mr. Bennet tells Lizzy that she needs to secure him, but of Bingley's attachment to Jane, and her younger sisters are to young and foolish, Mr. William Collins, Geoffrey Collins' younger brother comes for the same reason, but seeing Jane taken and the other three not acceptable, heads to Lucas Lodge, Soon he is betrothed to Charlotte, His brother and two twins are invited along with Lizzy for Easter at Hunsford, Ben finds his friend King Arthur and drags him home to meet his motherdesire, because she doesn't believe he's real, Well it reunites Darcy and Elizabeth, and her strict and husband to be, becomes obnoxious, Darcy continues his relationship with Ben and pulls Lizzy into the fantasy as Queen Guinevere, Both she and Ben their day immensely, When she returns to the parsonage and is confronted by Geoffrey, Lizzy is steaming after his remarks, Eventually, Geoffrey toasts the engagement of Anne and Darcy when they eat at Rosings, Darcy is beside himself and when she plays the pianoforte, he tells her that's not true, While out walking, Darcy proposes, but her heart wants to, but her fear of her father's reaction and promise stops her, Darcy gives Ben his card, and leaves Rosings after putting his aunt her place, At last she sees that he and Anne are not suited and releases him, Anne however, overheard her mother's remark, rushes up the stairs madder Ghana a wet when, and screams, "It's not over until I say it's over, " Anne has her mother's daughter for sure complete with mannerisms, hateful to those inferior and avowed revenge, Darcy leaves, and Geoffrey Collins takes freewheeling Ben's foolishness, and Lizzy sees to his two daughters, Ben offers the two princesses a gift, He found two toads and their Princes, They run screaming, and Geoffrey was mean and too stern when disciplining her child, When Ben runs off to his bedroom, Collins tells her to stop coddling her son, and get his fantasies out of his head, Later during their quiet time together, she unleashed her vitriol on him and refuses to marry him because all he wants is a subservient wife and son, and she won't bend to that.
He fires back that has nothing to do with him, but she thinks she's in love with Darcy, He tells her, he wants her gone by tomorrow morning, She goes to the Gardiners and with four adults and five children the home is packed, Jane is upset with her life and upset because she has given up a decent man just to have her own way, She definitely will never be admitted to Longbourn again, Ben enjoys his cousins, but sees she is very unhappy, Her uncle has invested her money in a bad adventure and now she cannot live alone, Ben suggests seeing Mr. Darcy because he told them he would help her at anytime, Telling Ben she doesn't have his address, Ben runs to get Darcy's card, She tells him she cannot just show up, Later when Ben is not found in the house, Elizabeth panics, realizes he has gone to Darcy's home, While she's on her way, Caroline invades Darcy House, She is trying to seduce him, and he is having none of it, Just as he is removing her, Elizabeth shows up and before he can throw Caroline out, she has words for them both, Colonel Fitzwilliam shows up with Ben unconscious, Darcy calls his doctor, Ben is examined, and found to be alright, Elizabeth and Ben stay, and Georgiana comes as his hostess, When Ben reccovers, he and Elizabeth move to Georgiana's home, Between Caroline's comment and his uncle's diatribe, and Jane's scathing admission that she is marrying Geoffrey Collins, the Darcys, Lizzy and Ben all head to Pemberley, Everything is going great, and Lizzy is waiting for another proposal, Darcy, Elizabeth, and Ben go out on another adventure and in the meantime, Anne de Bourgh shows up wanting her intended immediately, Georgiana tells her she'll never be Darcy's wife for she loves another, She is angry and when Darcy shows up, begins to scream, rant, and rave, He lets lose on her and before he knows it she's attacking him, She slips at the top of the steps and falls all the way down, She's hurt and Darcy feels guilty, The Colonel shows up for the wedding and when he finds out that he's rescheduled the date, he goes off on Darcy saying that if he keeps this up Anne will gloat him into marrying her.
If that happens, what about Elizabeth and Ben Heated words are exchanged, and Darcy realizes he's right, Richard comes to find out Anne has been awake for quite awhile and has a stern, long overdue, talk with her, Anne finally admits to her deception, apologized to Lizzy Anne the wedding takes place in a very short amount of time,
Another great P. O. Dixon's Pride and Prejudice variation,
He Taught Me to Hope: Darcy and the Young Knight's Quest is a delightful alternative telling of how Elizabeth and Darcy meet and eventually fall in love, The story starts with Elizabeth marrying a young man of a wealthy family at age, Soon after, Elizabeth is widowed andmonths later she gives birth to a healthy baby boy whom she names Ben, Flash forward five years when Elizabeth returns to Longbourn after the death of her fatherinlaw, At the behest of her father, Elizabeth becomes engaged to Mr, Collins out of a sense of duty to provide a future for her mother and

sisters, and to secure a father figure for Ben,

Ben is simply adorable! He's imaginative and wise beyond his years, Ben's favorite past time is exploring the woods around Longbourn, On one such exploration he meets Mr, Darcy. Ben introduces himself as Sir Lancelot and Darcy plays along and says that he is King Arthur, Darcy's relationship with Ben is endearing, He lets Ben be imaginative, and basically falls in love with Ben before he realizes that Ben is Elizabeths son,

Like in Jane Austen's book, Darcy and Elizabeth meet at the Meryton Assembly, Their eyes meet across the crowded room and both of them feel an instant attraction, Throughout most of the book Darcy tries to persuade Elizabeth that Mr, Collins is all wrong for her, and after her broken engagement, Darcy persuades her to marry him, Darcy's feelings for Elizabeth never waiver and are steadfast,

I listened to the Audible version of this story narrated by Pearl Hewitt, She did an outstanding job, providing distinct and consistent voices for all characters, young and old, Pearl's narration certainly contributed to my enjoyment of this book, Great job! ed for Indie Jane,

I gave this, stars. As a young seventeen yr old, Elizabeth Bennet marries her childhood sweetheart against her fathers wishes, This is how this PampP alternative starts out, Unfortunately Elizabeth's happiness is not to be and she is widowed after onlymo of marriage, The result of this marriage is a little boy named Bennet Charlton and the story resumes a few years later, This is where the real story begins, Elizabeth is now back at Longbourne and Netherfield is finally let, The story and the journey is wonderful, We find that Willaim Collins has an older brother and he is not so odiousor not, anyway the story diviates from here, Lizzy is to save the Bennet's by marrying the older Mr Collins, Of course we meet the Bingleys at Netherfield with Mr Darcy in residence, You will recognise the story with a little changes and I think the changes are wonderful especially getting to know little Bennet, This story was wonderful and by far my favorite by this author, A definite must read. A delightful read, my favourite from P, O. Dixon!
In He Taught Me to Hope, Elizabeth marries a young man of a wealthy family, Only a month after the wedding, Elizabeth is a widow, Thankfully, in that short time together, she has conceived a child and gives birth to a beautiful baby boy, Ben, Elizabeth continues to live with her fatherinlaw until his death, Then she and Ben return to Longbourn to live, Sadly, Mr. Bennet, never approving of Elizabeth's marriage, treats her like a stranger,

To secure the future for her mother and sisters, as well as for Ben, Elizabeth agrees to marry Mr, Collins. It is an arranged marriage, but Liz felt it would be good for her and Ben, Then one night, at the Meryton Assembly, she sees Mr, Darcy for the first time, As he is walking through the crowd their eyes meet, and Lizzy feels as if she were staring into the eyes of her soul mate, The attraction is just as strong for Darcy, and he is enchanted with Elizabeth,

I love how Darcy is trying to woo Elizabeth away from Mr, Collins. He is hoping she will see how they are meant to be together and how wrong Mr, Collins is for both her and Ben, He has a strong ally in Ben, who loves Darcy!

Ben is adorable! Darcy and Ben meet in the woods, Ben introduces himself as Sir Lancelot and believes Darcy is King Arthur, I love how Darcy treats Ben, He lets Ben be imaginative, and doesnt try to stifle that, I also love that Darcy falls in love with both Elizabeth and Ben before he finds out that Ben is Elizabeths son,

I wasn't happy with Jane in this story, She is not the positive, “seeing only the good in everything” person she usually is, She is afraid for her future, afraid shell never find a husband and is bitter toward Elizabeth and all her suitors, I would have liked to see Elizabeth's and Jane's relationship restored, It felt incomplete.

He Taught Me to Hope is a fun Pride and Prejudice adaptation! I loved the whole King Author aspect, .
