liked the first one better, I do like the characters, Fido makes me want to buy a Guinea pig, Dexteryo read. "I really liked how his mom got his a guinea pig instead of a dog and the guinea pig turned out to act like a dog.
A fun read for kids who love pets or dream of having a pet,
The silly factor is high a guinea pig that barks and plays fetch like a dog! and the wrestling with relationships is relevant and
well handled maybe a girl CAN be a friend even if you don't want her to.
. . and maybe the guy at school who bugs you most can be a friend, too, . . or maybe not. Also deals with how to handle worrying about what everyone else thinks of you,
Good family values, A good book for reading aloud or a kid reading by themselves,.acc to Nathan So funny! I think this book is a little too much ridiculosity which is actually a word for me.
Im sure its very entertaining to fifth graders, but not me, I liked Rufus best friend hes funny, I really enjoyed this sequel to sitelinkGuinea Dog, But it ended rather abruptly! I actually looked to see if maybe the audio had stopped, But it was over!
I enjoyed reading about Rufus's Guinea Dog! In this book, it's gotten out that Fido behaves like dogs do.
And so Rufus is all of a sudden being badgered about Fido! Can Dmitry I think that was his name buy her And can Rufus train others' guinea pigs to behave like dogs Rufus doesn't like his newfound popularity, and he tries to train Fido to behave more like a guinea pig, and less like a dog.
But then Fido runs away! And Rufus really wants her back, She is eventually found
The baby guinea pig behaves more like a squirrel than a dog! And Rufus decides to give the baby to , So I am worried and wondering what is going to happen in sitelinkGuinea Dog, I have it out on Libby from my library as well, so I'll be listening to thisrd book later today on my walks with Max! Guinea Dogis almost as good as the first.
As with the first, it is has a nice balance between character development and plot, Rufus becomes a local celebrity when everyone hears that he has a guinea pig that acts like a dog, He is badgered so aggressively about it that he resolves to untrain Fido so everyone will leave him alone, The climax of the story is when, not long after Rufus begins his untraining quest, Fido disappears, The story ends with a fun although somewhat predictable twist, Continuation of the funny series as the Guinea Pig goes missing, and a surprise ending, Picking up just about where the previous book left off, Rufus still loves Fido, who acts more like a dog than a guinea pig.
But because his classmates pay so much attention to him because of her, attention he definitely does not want, Rufus tries to train her to act more like a guinea pig.
He won't take her on walks, let her sleep with him or even throw bones for her to fetch, As his best friend Murph runs interference for him at school and he tries to repulse Dmitri's efforts to buy Fido, Rufus must also contend with the unwanted friendship and help of Lurena, who loves animals and isn't overly concerned about what others think about her.
Rufus could stand to learn a few lessons about selfesteem from her, When Fido disappears, Rufus regrets how he has treated her, of course, and the search is on to find her and bring her home.
I liked how the author described Rufus so honestly, and while having a dog for a pet might be easier, Fido is pretty cool just the way she is.
The book is filled with laughs and heartfelt moments, The first guinea dog was WAY better, . . come on Patrick Today I learned that the gestation period of a guinea pig isdays! My kids again loved listening to this audio book about Fido the Guinea Dog.
I liked the theme of Rufus, the boy, learning how to set boundaries, but it wasn't quite as good as the first.
This was a very adorable book, I love this type of story, I cant wait to read it to my son,/Not one of my favorites but for elementary age kiddos it is a pretty cute story, Think along the lines of lower elementary chapter book with very easy subject matter, If my kids reviewed it, they would have givenstars, from Miss. She loves the Guinea Dog series so much that she listened to all three books sequentially by audiobook and was fascinated by them.
She loves the idea of a guinea pig that thinks she's a dog and would pause the books so she could excitedly talk about them with me.
The books also inspired her to switch from bunnies to guinea pigs on our petting farm visits so she can be a guinea pig mummy with a lapful of guinea pigs.
Missand I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes, We try to get different ones out every week or so it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new amp favourite authors.
A young family member read this to me during “Shelter at Home”, it was a wonderful book to hear read aloud, . It was like the first book, But more interesting. Another funny book in the series, We especially enjoyed the friendships in this book, New in paperback, the second of an awardwinning, hilariously funny middlegrade series about guinea pigs who act like other pets will move its author, Patrick Jennings, into the ranks of muchloved writers, such as Louis Sachar and Andrew Clements.
When Rufus goes back to school, he learns that he and his guinea dog, Fido, are now celebrities, All his classmates want to see his pet, and some of them the horrible Dmitri even want to buy her, Rufus hates the attention so much he decides to remake Fido into a regular guinea pig, but then she disappears! Did she run away, did one of the kids kidnap her, or is she hurt Never fear, Fido is found, and she is not alone! A new guinea pig is with her, and this one acts like a squirreljust right for rodentloving, chinchillabrushing Lurena, the girl Rufus can't get away from.
"Youngsters will relate as Rufus learns to say no, feel grateful for his friends whether boy or girl and make right his relationship with Fido, whose weight gain was for a very good reason.
With the introduction of Fido's gifted progeny, Jennings leaves readers begging for another absurd adventure, " Kirkus s
