Gain Access Flo Wendell Explore Brought To You By William Wegman Compiled As Softcover

book is great to discuss a real problem, sibling rivalry, but in a funny, untraditional way, As the oldest of four children, this book spoke to me and lets students see both ends of fighting with your sibling,

The pictures in this book are so unconventional, They are photographs of the authors real dogs and then painted over, The painting is pretty undefinded, while the photographs are obviosuly very derfined, Adorable, and a nice story too, Puppies going camping YES! Adorable! My kids loved it, Especially the dog faces. Very entertaining. I recieved this book through goodreads, The first time I read this book I thought it was eh, just okay, But I have actually read it several times with my toddler and it has really grown on me, I love books that he and I can both enjoy, It's a big deal to be able to read a book without wanting to claw my eyeballs outbecause kids always want to read their favorite books again and again and again and again.
. .

. The story plot is adorable, Siblings Flo and Wendell go on a "camping trip" together in the back yard, It's an imaginative adventure and Flo makes sure it is filled with all the things her that her brother, Wendell, enjoys,

. There is a lot of subtle humor that adds a lighthearted vibe and makes the story more interesting,

. The pictures are a combination of illustration and photography, The dog's heads are Weimaraner photos, While I didn't care for the mixed media and thought it made the pictures feel incongruous and odd, my mom got a kick out of it and thought it was really clever and neat.
I'm sure most children would think it is a fun element,

. Even though the photo faces weren't my favorite, I was very impressed with the dogs' expressions in the photos, They matched the character actions and mood of each page perfectly, That had to be hard to capture, but it was really well done,

. All in all, a cute book,

Thank you to the author/publisher and the Goodreads First Reads program for gifting me a free book for review : have to say the dog heads are a little creepy.
These are just so dang cute! Creating illustrations around the heads of his dogs, Wegman creates delightful tales that will have you giggling, In this story, older sister Flo takes little brother Wendell out camping to appease his restless soul, Hiking, fishing, canoeing and enjoying nature, Fun for both kids amp adults or just adults who still feel like kids, ahem! I read this book to my little brother and we both enjoyed it! The CUTE dog faces made up for the story that was lacking.
The story is not welltold, but very young children who like dogs will enjoy the story of two siblings who go camping, Simple paintings hold the famous Wegman Weimaraners as Flo amp Wendell go on a camping trip, I wonder if he took special photos to match the story, or if he used his own stock, and I did not know he lives in Maine part of the year.
These dogs ones are so cute, And I liked seeing them do camping stuff, I wondered where the canoe came from until the end, The marshmallow part was the best,

Tried this in ST with a Journeys theme, Both kids and adults loved seeing the pictures, A fun story about camping and teamwork, Students will love the use of dogs as main characters and the art is amazing! Cute! I remember when Wegman's dogs were on Sesame Street, Cute story about siblings going on a camping trip, I lol'd at Wendell's list of what he'd need to bring on the trip, I'm holding on to this one for when my nephew gets a little older, this was interesting I love how Wendell is so single minded about using his hatchet! Love these weimaraners! Fun story about wanting an adventure camping, but go in an RV and drive, drive, drive.
But then Flo and Wendell decide to camp in a tent, get lost, run into a bear maybe and find a way back home! Weimaraner siblings go camping.
I have been a fan of William Wegman since he had his weimaraners on Sesame Street back in the's! A few years ago, I got to hear him speak about his work on these books at

the National Book Festival in DC, and I finally got around to reading one.

It was a cute story about big sister Flo and her little brother Wendell and the camping trip they go on together, Wendell doesn't like their family vacation and Flo tries to make it up to him by doing all his favorite camping activities, . . as best they can pretend in their own backyard!

I still find the illustrations kind of weird with the photographed dog's heads on illustrated bodies and I much prefer Wegman's earlier works with the full dogs in fun positions.
. . I'm sure he could have done the same story in that manner instead! This is odd the pages are drawn and then photos of dog faces are pasted in.
This one is mostly about camping out, William Wegman channels his love of nature in an outdoor adventure for campers of all ages

Flo thinks the familys last vacation together was just grand.
Her little brother, Wendell, thinks it was absolutely terrible, So, being the good big sister that she can sometimes be, Flo has agreed to take Wendell on his very own camping adventure, Theyre going to go canoeing, fishing, and hikingwell, as best they can in the comfort of their neighborhood,

In this followup to Flo amp Wendell, Wegmans celebrated return to childrens books, he again combines his signature Weimaraner photography with whimsical paintings, The result is a satisfying and kidfriendly picture book that will remind readers that camping is always an adventureeven when its close to home, .
