Jen:
Karen Templeton delivers a fun Christmas story with Dear Santa, Grant Braeburn is suddenly a single father when his exwife dies in a car accident, He convinces his exs best friend, Mia, to help him learn to be a father to his daughter and smooth the transition, But Grant soon discovers that he wants Mia to be a permanent fixture in their lives,
I found this to be a refreshing and satisfying Christmas story, I often worry when children have big parts in a romance story, but Ms, Templeton created a realistic child dealing with an all too common, and unfortunate, circumstance, The child is the reason the couple first has a friendship, but shes not the basis of their relationship,in Guys and Daughters Seriesin the Guys and Daughters romance series
This was nice, I like the premise of a romance, but starting with the relationship between a man and his daughter, I actually read thend in this series previously and liked it so much that I had to come back to this one and catch up.
We meet Grant just after his exwife is killed in a car accident and he has to break the news to hisyearold daughter.
Grant has basically let his ex take the little girl a lot of the time and doesn't really know how to relate, how to be a daddy to her.
Having had a stilted upbringing, he's clueless, Enter Mia, his exwife's best friend, Mia is crazy and disorganized except for when she's working as a party planner, downtoearth, and honest, She's exactly what their quiet and solemn family needs, It was great to watch Mia and Grant get closer, but it was also charming to see Haley the daughter blossom, Sweet book, with some bumps along the way of course, and I continue to like this series, I hadn't realized it before, but it follows the Vaccaro siblingsMia is featured in this one and older brother Rudy in the next.
The Vaccaros are warm and boisterous and hilarious, and it was fun to spend Thanksgiving with them in this book,Stars Dear Santa Karen Templeton
Category Romance/DNF at the half point, So far not even close to Christmasy, Hello, look at the cover and title, Also, I'm feeling misled by reviews that characterize this book as fun and light, It's about ayearold coping with her mother's sudden death, Turns out mom was a lying, cheating, workaholic bitch so her ex and best friend are okay with her death, All this has made me cranky and hate this book a little bit, HIS DAUGHTER'S BIRTH MADE HIM A FATHER, BECOMING A DADDY WOULD
TAKE A BIT LONGER,
Connecticut mogul Grant Braeburn never thought he was father material, even though his nearly fouryearold daughter should have convinced him otherwise.
But then his exwife's death made him Haley's permanent parent, Her only parent. He needed help, in a hurry,
It came in the form of Mia Vaccaro, the lively, lovely party planner who had been his exwife's best friend, Mia was the only one who could touch Haley's broken heart, And, Grant was becoming increasingly aware, his as well, great book . started last night and finished it today, . . when I really should have been doing other stuff, Fabulous! A heartwarming story of love and trust and second chances, This book amply demonstrates why KT is a favorite author of mine, It's not
perfect. . but close enough for me, : !! JUST LOVED IT As the mother of five sons, now grown, Karen loves to write about real people dealing with the drama and humor of everyday life.
