I loved this book all the way through, There was nothing I didn't like, It was a fast paced and delightfully hilarious read, Every chapter had an unexpected surprise, The characters were true to life with unique voices and perceptions of what was going on.
Eve Gaal did a fabulous job revealing what was going on in each of the characters' heads, even the insignificant ones.

Full of surprises and unexpected twists, Penniless Hearts is a delightful and romantic comedy of errors.
What a fun summer read! Ms, Gaal's book is highly entertaining, I just finished reading the Steve Jobs book and needed to unwind with something light and humorous.
I savored the fun element of this wacky romance set in Hawaii, Made me want to pack my flip flops and buy a ticket, As a life coach the coaching the main character Penny gets from another artist near the end of the book touched my heart.
Great advice! Great read! Grab it and your sunscreen and head to the nearest beach! There are many threads in this story.
We get numerous, short chapters exploring the point of view of almost all the characters that show up more than five times in this book.
While interesting, the story does have a lot of work to tie everything together into a story arc.
Also, characters here are easily persuaded and will do almost anything when it comes to being asked to do adventure or to see someone.
While this is fun for a "what if" character did this or that, we will need to treat it as a work of fiction that takes place in the real world, but where the characters do not act real.
Where anything can happen in Penny's world, and we do not worry about the conviction of the characters.

As a result, I needed to work harder to emotionally identify with the characters.
My favourite was Tina, the domineering boss, Her overthetop personality fitted perfectly the overthetop themes of this story,

This book also has some humour, Also, it's nice to see a man John who is decent, trusting, honest, and extremely patient, so that he'll wait years and be like best friends with the woman he loves.
We need more of these men,

The descriptions of Hawaii were interesting too, Fed up with her humdrum life where she is overworked, taken advantage of, and underappreciated Penny feels like its time for a change, time to reignite the spark she once felt.
So when Dan, a handsome charming pilot, woos her she is on his trip to Hawaii before she has time to think.
Leaving behind her father and boyfriend in search of the adventure her fantasies and soul cries for.
Little does she know she is about to get more than she bargained for and with only a maxed out a credit card to her name things are not looking good.

Penniless Hearts by Eve Gaal is a sweet romance and a journey of action, danger, and selfdiscovery that pulls the reader into Penny and John's life.
I loved how I felt like I was part of their story, from beautiful descriptions to intense discovery.
Watching the plot unravel to discover exactly how much trouble Penny is in is handled beautifully.
What started of as simply being alone and abandoned becomes so much worse, trespassing, crimes, drugs.
Penny, even prone to her flights of fancy, had never imagined something like this, and yet it was exactly what she needed to realize who she is and what she really wants.
Is grass greener on the other side Many times we're all at a point in a life and wonder about the choices we've made.
We try to explore the possibilities that maybe we made the wrong choices and perhaps grass is greener on the other side.

In Penniless Hearts, Penny is her father's primary caregiver, She has a wonderful boyfriend who absolutely adores her, But Penny is exhausted and bored out of her mind, She goes off seeking for adventures and wonders that maybe there's something more out there in life.

Penniless Hearts, by Eve Gaal

I must begin with the fact that is out of my genre of preference science fiction and the first few pages had me wondering what I'd gotten myself into, committing to read a book I wasn't sure I'd be interested in, in the first place.

That said, I found Penniless Hearts completely engaging! As the story unfolded, all of the characters whether major or minor were completely fleshed out to the point where I felt I knew them personally, cheering for some, laughing and smirking at others.
I think my favorite is Penny, as I can easily identify with her quirky personality,

It may not bother you, but I must say, there is one rather explicit, steamy scene that I finally skimmed over.
Just me. Not my thing.

Aside from that, I found the story full of excitement, adventure, love interests, good character development, and scenes shifting effortlessly from one place or time to another, even as characters jumped from California to various spots on the Hawaiian Islands.
I loved Eve's descriptive phrases, like "crawled into memories", . . "drawing his name out like saltwater taffy, . . "

Carve out some time, pull up a seat with Mai Tai in hand and travel to Hawaii through this love adventure! Aloha!
I almost never read romance novels, but author Eve Gaal is a terrific writer, who drew me in to the very end with skillfully crafted characters and enthralling descriptive phrases.
A talented novelist, she has spun a tale of romance, adventure, and drug smuggling mayhem that made for a richly entertaining read.
Our heroine, Penny Himmel, is persuaded to leave her Southern California surroundings and follow a "prince charming" airline pilot on a short vacation to Hawaii leaving

behind her dad and a longtime boyfriend.
Volcanic eruptions are not the only sparks that flare up when Penny arrives on the island paradise.
The author has a wonderful sense of humor, which is laced throughout the story, My favorite character is Penny's dictatorial boss, Tina, six feet of "lace and legs, " She is an engaging character, who reminds me of Rhonda Russell from my debut novel, Wrath of Rhonda, an intelligent, domineering woman, who could be a poster child for bipolar disorders.
How will Penny's search for happiness in all the wrong places end Pour yourself something tropical, relax, and read this fine book you won't be disappointed.
