Snag Viscount Of Vice (Covent Garden Cubs, #0.5) Executed By Shana Galen Expressed As Softcover

always gives us a good tale,

Henry Flynn carries guilt like other men carry confidence, With no wish to believe himself deserving of anyone or anything grand, he does his best to drown his sorrows in drink and live up to the name of Viscount of Vice.
The darling Emma Talbot believes him to be one of the best men, if hed ever take a moment to notice her, When Henry is finally reunited with his long lost brother, Matthew, his guilt over his brothers state threatens to pull him even deeper into a state of deserving nothing good in his life.
Emma is determined to help him see the error of that thinking, and save him from himself,

We first met Flynn in the Jewels of the Ton series and Emma is the sister of the Duke of Ravenscroft from SAPPHIRES ARE AN EARLS BEST FRIEND.
Emma has been in love with Flynn for years but always felt like she went completely unnoticed by the handsome man, When she comes of age, she gains Henrys notice but now she feels its too late because he is steeped in his own wallowing guilt, What she doesnt realize is that Henry has always noticed her, and lusts for her,

I liked Emma a lot, Shes not the average young lady of the ton looking simply to marry a wealthy man of title, Shes got an independent nature and enjoys her volunteer work at the hospital, We are introduced to an element of mystery, which I suspect will carry through into the series, when Emma and Flynn are pulled away to Bath and become embroiled in a dramatic rescue surrounding his brother.
It was rather delightful to have the setting take us out of London to the sleepy town where a dark side is revealed, I dont wish to tell you more for it would be too easy to reveal the whole story,

I highly recommend reading VISCOUNT OF VICE by Shana Galen as it is driven by action from the first pages to the last some funny things happen too.
If youve read the Jewels of the Ton, you most certainly will thrill to Flynn and Emmas story and be left wanting more in the Covent Garden Cubs series which leads off with the full length, EARLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN, already available and on my reading list.

If you havent experienced the exciting stories of lords and ladies, spies, and bow runners conjured by Shana Galen, then get your first taste with VISCOUNT OF VICEyoull be hooked forever.

purchased for my own personal reading but sharing an honest and unscripted review, Originally reviewed for Bodice Rippers, Femme Fatales and Fantasy,

Shana Galen is a name that seems to show up more often than not, She offers a unique twist on the Regency Romance, . and sometimes Victorian. It's not done by using outside forces or supernatural but instead, in depth character development, Characters with flaws, characters that often stand on the outside looking in and characters that have to overcome their own flaws more often than obstacles set about by others.
In short she writes about real people, . ok, real people that she made up, .

Viscount of Vice is the prequel to Ms, Galen's Covenant Garden Series, my review for book one will be coming soon, Since this is a new series, Ms, Galen has to build her world and she begins building wonderfully in this beautiful novella,

Lady Emma Talbert has been in love with Flynn Chesam for what seems like forever, Now that she is an "adult" all of, she figures it's time to make her move, They meet at a dance, share a dance and a kiss, what could be the start of something wonderful, BUT that would be a really, really short book, . so Ms. Galen tossed in a missing brother and finally, maybe finding him,

Flynn Chesam lost his brother at a very young age, Literally, he lost his brother, They were out playing and he looked away for a moment, . Because of this loss, he has lived a life of guilt, Refusing to believe that he even deserves a chance at happiness, Turning away whenever it comes close, Although, one night at a ball his life seemed to take a totally unexpected turn, A sweet kiss with a young miss and the news that his brother just might be alive! WOW, . .

This really is a novella but Shana packs so much into it you forget that, It's not overcrowded with unnecessary info, nope it's filled with important aspects to their lives, It begins the the story of the Covenant Garden Series and most definitely left me wanting more,

A truly wonderful story, . I am really looking forward to what happens next,

This review is based on the ARC of Viscount of Vice, provided by netgalley and is scheduled to be released on January,This didn't feel like a novella.
I got a complete story and felt fulfilled, I really enjoyed how it unraveled and the character development was on point, Flynn was a great MC flaws and all and Emma was just the right lady for him, I loved how her personality was just the right challenge for our gent, The plot was interesting and the pacing was just right, I can't wait to read more regarding the side characters! The Viscount of Vice isthe the first novel in Shana Galen's new Covent Garden cubs series, The novella is a fastpaced regency romp filled with adventure and passion!

He was going to hell, Shame, Flynn thought , dangling from a thirdfloor window of a town house in exclusive Grosvernor Square,
Moisture gathered on his fingers, and his hand slipped, He could not hold on much longer, Perhaps his death was for the best,
Still, it seemed harsh even for one such as Beelzebub to claim him when he was hanging naked from a window of one of the most prestigious addresses in Mayfair.

Flynn!" A woman's voice hissed, His name was Henry Flynn, and he was the new Lord Chesham, but everyone called him Flynn when he wasn't called something far less complimentary,

Who could resist a story which opens with the hero dangling naked off a balcony Can you imagine I absolutely loved the first chapter of this novella as it was wellwritten and laugh out loud funny.
I couldn't help falling for the novella's hero the charming scoundrel Flynn,

Ms. Galen's hero, heroine and their adventures are well written and the storyline conflict is credible, Flynn meets with Sir Brooks Derring, Derring has some important information for Flynn and the two men head towards the town of Bath, Flynn meets and dances with Lady Emma Talbot, at an assembly in Bath, The character of Emma resonated with me, She's not the average society miss looking to marry a wealthy nobleman, She's independent and enjoys volunteering at the hospital, Emma has been love with Flynn for years, Flynn might be in lust with Emma but he's afraid of Emma's brother, the powerful Duke of Ravenscroft the hero from the author's book Sapphires Are An Earl's Best friend.

The Viscount of Vice provides a great transition to Ms, Galen's new Covent Garden Cubs series, The novella explores several social issues and introduces the new series villain, I read the novella in one sitting, It held my interest and I am looking forward to the first book in the series Earl's Just Want to Have Fun,
Now Available!

Stars!

I completely enjoyed this novella, I was able to read it in just a couple of hours and was immediately pulled into the story, Some novella length pieces feel rushed or incomplete but that was not the case with this story, There was a whole lot of story packed into these few pages, I was immediately drawn to the characters and found myself grinning several times,

Flynn Chesham is known as the Viscount of Vice, a title he has earned through his behavior, The story opens with a scene that illustrates how this nickname was earned and I immediately knew that Flynn was going to be a character that I would enjoy.
Viscount Chesham finds himself in Bath in his quest to find his long lost brother, Robert,

Lady Emma has met Viscount Chesham before but now she is finally eighteen, Flynn and Emma are drawn to each other at a ball and share a dance, At the end of the ball, they share a kiss before the night takes a dramatic turn, As the pair works to locate Flynn's brother, they find themselves in danger,

I thought that this novella was very well written, The plot moved forward quite nicely and the characters were likable and realistic, I liked the chemistry between the pair and thought that the dialog was outstanding, The plot of this story was nicely contained within the novella, I do wish that Flynn had been a bit younger, I do realize that it was quite common for ladies to marry much older men during this time period but I still do not like the thought of a man in his twenties looking at ayear old girl.

Snag Viscount Of Vice (Covent Garden Cubs, #0.5) Executed By Shana Galen Expressed As Softcover

I would recommend this novella to anyone who enjoys historical romances, This is a great piece to read when you would like a complete story in a single sitting, This was actually the first piece that I have read by Shana Galen but I will definitely be reading from this author in the future, .
