Catch The Curates Brother Originated By Wendy Van Camp Rendered As Print

enjoyed this prequel to Jane Austen's Persuasion, It evoked the lovely style of Austen, while erring on the side of being approachable for modern readers, If you're like me and terrible with remembering character names, I suggest rereading Persuasion or at least reading a summary of the story first to reacquaint yourself.
It made this book even more interesting, I thought it was a great idea to tell this story from the point of view of Frederick's brother Edward, rather than Frederick or Anne, Not only did I get a different perspective on the events, but Edward is a very modest and likeable character, I was rooting for him right away, and enjoyed watching him find the courage to pursue his goal,

The story is quite short for a paperback it's a long short story or perhaps a novelette rather than a novella, The page count is misleading and felt padded out, with a large font,,spacing, and extra lines between paragraphs, It feels like a missed opportunity, as the material is so rich that it could have supported twice as many words covering the same ground, by adding more exploration of character and setting, and drawing out the tension.

Overall, the story is engaging and charming, and I'd recommend it to any Austen fan!
