Win Its Time To Re-Vere The Works Of Shake-Speare: A Psychoanalyst Reads The Works Of Edward De Vere, Earl Of Oxford Scripted By Richard M. Waugaman Shared As Electronic Format
Richard M. Waugaman, a psychiatrist and a psychoanalyst, has intensively pursued Shakespeare research, Sigmund Freud was the first wellknown intellectual to endorse thetheory that "ShakeSpeare" was the pen name of Edward de Vere, Earl of Oxford.
Since Waugaman was disappointed to learn that new evidence strongly supporting Freud's authorship opinion was being widely ignored, he has chosen to specialize in that aspect of Shakespeare studies.
Hispublications on Shakespeare and on the psychology of pen names have appeared in a wide variety of psychoanalytic and English literature journals.
In this book, he has collected a sample of his publications, adding a few previously unpublished chapters, Dr. Waugaman has been a
clinical psychoanalyst foryears, His clinical work has convinced him that both individual and group blind spots can be massive, In the case of the Shakespeare authorship question, he is convinced that mainstream Shakespeare scholars are victims of groupthinkthey have been excessively certain of their authorship theory, and have thus been engaged unconsciously in circular thinking, rather than evaluating the evidence objectively.
I write a lot of reviews here on Goodreads, I wouldn't package them between two covers and charge money for them, That is where Richard Waugaman and I differ,
Indeed it takes a special kind of arrogance to assume that the world wantsnay!demands a collection of reviews and short essays most of which are largely available online for free anyway on a topic that Richard Waugaman is neither trained in, nor really any good in.
Waugaman takes a Freudian perspective on Shakespeare's plays by which I mean he just repackages Freud's perspectives, except Waugaman stops at de Vere where Freud assumed that Shakespeare was actually written by a Frenchmen.
Freud wasn't very good at it, and Waugaman is worse, Neither of course produced any evidence but Freud had the fortune to die before stylometrics not only eliminated Oxford from the running you can't write less like a man from Stratford than Oxford who never set foot there, while the plays very clearly come from Warwickshire: the word "unwrappered" for one, but Freud's Frenchman as well.
Waugaman hasn't got an excuse, He is just a small man with a big ego, Richard M. Waugaman, M. D. is Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Faculty Expert on Shakespeare for Media Contacts at Georgetown University, He is also Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and Training and Supervising Analyst, Emeritus at the Washington Psychoanalytic Institute.
