This is a story born in the hearts of individuals, who may do brave things but always bear the scares of those actions, People are fragile and disappoint, betray and ultimately act in selfish ways,

is found shot dead in a snow covered field while out for a morning walk he is a disgraced former priest from the area has he come home to confront his passed, make peace with those he has wronged or seek forgiveness prior to his death.

Walking is a key element in this book and it is fitting the victim should die in the act of walking when it was said "I believe that's why he walked so often.

This is a wonderful novella for all readers and lovers of crime fiction, If new to this character it is a perfect introduction into a new detective for you for those like me already familiar with Rocco and his fruit bats it is a clear reminder of what we miss.
