has done it again! The second book in The Choir Girls series will not disappoint you, I am so thankful to have found a series that I can recommend to my friends when they are seeking out new material for their children to read and I can't wait until my own daughter is old enough to enjoy them! Alto Secrets tackles the issues of lying and keeping secrets from friends and parents, but does so in a way that teaches a lesson without shoving it down the reader's throat.
As a child, I struggled greatly with lying, and I can't help but wonder if a book like this would have helped me break those habits as I watched the tangled mess of a web unfold in this story.
I love how the author makes the characters so relatable and real, I am waiting anxiously for the next installment!!
I received an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion, From someone who breezed through Soprano Trouble in a day, I was ecstatic when I realized I didn't have to wait longer than a few months until Alto Secrets came out! This is the second book in apart series and it was wonderful! Alto Secrets is well written and paints an accurate picture of real junior high struggles.
Each of the characters are quite relateable and fun to continue to get to know, I highly recommend this one! I received an advanced reader copy from TouchPoint Press in exchange for an honest review, I love the storylines and characters of this series by Victoria Kimble! What a great find for tween girls! Thank you for offering a good tween book that doesn't disrespect parents or teachers or friends.
Looking forward to the next installment!
I received an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion, The second book in the Choir Girls series does not disappoint! I loved reading this world from Maddie's point of view, and Kimble does a great job bringing a new narrative voice to the series.
This book speaks to young girls right where they're atwith lying, keeping secrets, and hiding the truth, Like its predecessor, the book finds a place of redemption and light,
I received an ARC from TouchPoint Publisher, This is my honest review, Wonderful story that a preteen/teen really all adults too! can easily relate to about how one quick lie can spread and soon enough you are lying to cover the lies!
Maddie learned a lot about herself and her friends and family when she grew in her faith.
As a second book in the series, it tied in really well with the first but could stand alone not an easy task for an author! I can't wait to see which character we will get to know a bit better in the next book!
I received and advance copy for my honest review.
I am enjoying this midgrade series so much! Alto Secrets is the book I probably should have read when I was inth grade, keeping secrets from my parents and feeling like they would never understand.
As in her first book, Kimble is able to impart wisdom to her young readers without using a preachy approach, and her humor will be appreciated by parents reading along.
I particularly enjoy the strong peer and parent relationships present in the Choir Girls series so far, Maddie, Summer, and Pilar are delightful in their own ways, and their friendship definitely makes each girl better, I can't wait to read the next installment hopefully it's Pilar's turn to have a story!!
I received an advance copy of the book from Touchstone Press in exchange for my honest opinion.
I received a PDF of this book from the publisher for review,
Short story about a girl who isn't sure how to tell the truth about her interests, This is the second book in the series, It would be a good way to start a conversation about the importance of honesty and all the implications of lying with your daughter, Great book about what happens when we decide to tell a little lie, Deeper and deeper we go, Wait till you find out how Maddie gets out of a major mess, Expertly written and nails the middle school perspective, Well done. "I received an advanced reader copy from TouchPoint Press in exchange for an honest review, " The second in a series of books that are entertaining
and wholesome: a perfect addition to my little girl's library,
I received an ARC from the publisher, this is my honest review, I loved this book even more than the first one, I found myself propelled back in time to my own middle school and wishing that I had been more like Maddie Ryland, The struggle that these girls face like friendship, lying, and peer pressure, are all spot on, Read this with your teenager and it will give you a chance to remember what it was like and an opportunity to talk about the hardships that they may be afraid or embarrassed to talk about with their parents.
I received an advanced reader copy from TouchPoint Press in exchange for my honest review, I struggle at times to read books that I will enjoy as much as my preteen, However, with Alto Secrets Victoria Kimble has hit it out of the ballpark again, The further character development of the girls we met in book one draws in the reader and encourages dialogue about issues people of all ages face, dealing with bullies, struggling to develop identity, and most importantly the consequences of lying.
I enjoyed reading this book so much and I can't wait for the next one! I received an advanced reader copy from TouchPoint Press in exchange for an honest review.
This book was a gem, exploring the very real issue of lying and covering up for your lies as well as helping tweens think about who they are and whose they are.
I'm looking forward to reading and discussing with my almostyear old,
I received an ARC from Touchpoint press in exchange for my honest opinion, As if the first book in this series werent good enough, along came Alto Secrets! Alto Secrets is another book by Victoria Kimble that addresses reallife issues that “tween” girls and boys! deal with daily.
This book tackles the issue of lying and does so in a realistic as well as witty way, Its a good read and a good conversation starter for your children, As I did with Soprano Trouble, I most definitely recommend this book to all readers, but especially to tween/teen girls and their parents, I was so sad after finishing this book in one day I might add because I just wanted to keeping reading about Madison, Summer and Pilar! I so identified with these characters even though I am way past junior high age!! I read the first book, Soprano Trouble, and was hooked and I loved the character development in this second installment as well as the storyline.
Victoria Kimble did a masterful job at integrating a subtle, but pointed Biblical lesson that applies not just to junior higher, but to adults as well, Cant wait for the next one!! I received an advanced reader copy from TouchPoint Press in exchange for an honest review, I love this series! Victoria Kimble writes books that I want my daughter to read! I love how the author tackles topics like lies and secrets and does a great job of explaining how quickly they can get out of control.
The story is light enough that my child can understand without being saccharinesweet and unrelatable, I loved getting to revisit Maddie and Summer and the girls from Soprano Trouble! Great book!
I received this ARC from TouchPoint Press in exchange for my honest review.
All opinions are my own, “Alto Secrets” is a great story to help young readers understand the consequences of lying, This story, the second in The Choir Girls series, is told from Maddies point of view, Maddie is a great volleyball player who wants to join the art club after volleyball season is over, She doesnt think that her parents will let her, so she lies to them about what she is doing after school, One lie turns into another, and then another, and so on, Readers will see how easy it is to quickly become entangled in a web of lies, I love that one of Maddies brothers advises her to come clean when he finds out the truth if only she had taken his advice!
I received an advanced reader copy from TouchPoint Press in exchange for an honest review.
Another great tween/teen read from author Victoria Kimble, I didn't love this one quite as much as the first one, but still enjoyed it and look forward to the rest of the series! Kimble does a wonderful job depicting the realities of middle school and the pressures kids face.
I received an advance review copy from the publisher,
From a kid's perspective: "I really loved it and it was really good and I really want the rest of the series, I think Maddie learned a very valuable lesson, " AS, age. .
