Автор тезово подає основні ідеї та погляди авторів, віхи їхніх біографій та пояснює чим досі актуальні деяки з них, бо ж багато книг написані сотні років назад в суспільнополітичних реаліях які для сучасної людини можуть видатись як мінімум наївними. Звісно не варто очікувати, що знайомство з стислим викладом замінить вам читання оригінальних творів, але така методичка однозначно піде на користь. Особисто я дізнався про кілька цікавих книг про які не чув раніше, а про інші дізнався що це мені абсолютно нецікаво і непотрібно. I must say, I found this rather boring, I couldn't retain what I read because, of necessity, authors' justifications, arguments etc were not presented, I did get a sense of the breadth of poltitical philosophy, which is useful in itself, Does this count asbooks towards my reading challenge

Good intro if somewhat limited by necessity This book is a great reminder of the foundations of political thought over the centuries.
While not the definitive list, it gave me a reminder of some of the books that shaped our world view and inspired me to seek out some new works.

I really enjoyed this. It really makes you think when you have so many different political models and also the stories of so many brave people who made sweeping changes to how Govt is run.
