Driven by Fire is the fourth book in the Firehouse Six series and gives us Tabers story, The accident itself happens in an earlier book, and here we see Taber dealing with his recovery, He still hasnt been able to go back to the fire house or hang out with the guys, He knows he will never be a fire fighter again, but he is still adapting to his new reality and figuring out what he wants to do with his life.
So many of his friends just seem to want to talk about the accident, but Deacon has always been more of a distraction rather than making Taber focus on his problems.
I enjoyed the set up here, especially having a main character who is in a wheelchair, We dont always get a ton of diversity in our m/m romance heroes, so it was nice to see Taber as a sexy man and the more dominant partner while in the wheelchair.
We join him partway through his recovery, so we can feel his frustration at wanting to get better right away and his need to keep pushing himself even past the bounds of what is good for him.
I liked the way that this book rounded out a story line that we had been following in other books although I think you could read this as a stand alone as well.
We do get some visits from Simon and Michael, and also some quick time with Mica and Grey as well as what looks to be a new couple for a future book.
Unfortunately I had a few issues here as well, First off, the premise is kind of far fetched, Apparently Taber has scared off his previous caregivers and now he needs someone to help out, So somehow his physical therapist takes it upon himself to call one of Tabers coworkers and get him to move in with Taber without Taber having any say.
I mean, really Taber is a grown man and he really is given no choice about this meddling Not to mention that the physical therapist seems to be way overstepping his role.
And of course the fact that, while he is an EMT, Deacon has no background in home health care, Nor do we really see him do much of anything for Taber once he is there, I know this is one of those things you have to accept for this book to work at all, so I went with it, But I did find it a challenging premise,

.Stars Ah, my firemen are back, Don't accuse me of not supporting first responders, I used to spend quite a bit of money on the annual Firemen's calendar for various cities, grins Actually, on a serious note, I had the unfortunate fortune, I suppose I could say, to have a number of firemen in my home recently.
They were sympathetic, empathetic, kind, gentle, and just allaround good, decent men, and I won't ever forget their kind words,
Taber was injured several months before, While fighting a fire, a beam fell on him, causing partial paralysis, The doctors say he might be able to walk with crutches someday, but that'll be after more therapy and surgeries, Since he's managed to run off every caregiver sent to his home, they decide to send Deacon, an EMT with the fire department, Deacon is always smiling, playing practical jokes, or being sarcastic, but that's a façade he puts on so he never has to divulge his true self.
Taber is surprised at how well they get along, and both men are surprised by the force of their desire for the other.
Of course, Taber thinks it's pity, and Deacon thinks it's just because he's available, Sheesh. Men. grins But, as they grow closer as lovers and as friends, they both begin to see that there's a lot more to this relationship than either of them thought could happen.
Deacon gave him something no one had been able to give him since the accident, and it scared the hell out of him.
Deacon made him feel like a complete man again,
There's nothing I like better than a hot, sweaty romance with a delicious happy ending, 'Driven by Fire' is that and more,
NOTE: This book was provided by Loose Id for the purpose of a review on sitelinkRainbow Book s KindleSortReRead
It was ok to half way, nothing original but by then I'd had enough.
The characters didn't keep my interest, the sex scenes just had me wondering logistics considering his disability, There were odd backgrounds briefly mentioned in passing, Secrets that don't seem anything to be secretive over,
Overall meh sitelink can be read at It's About The Book

We first meet Taber Delane in Fused by Fire, a beam had fallen on him during a fire, causing a spinal injury.
When Driven by Fire begins, Taber has been in physical therapy for four months, and has driven away all his home care providers, He cant help it if none of them can handle his attitude, or if they cant keep their hands to themselves,
Deacon Hall, friend and paramedic, has decided to move in with Taber and become his new home care provider, He doesnt care what kind of attitude, Taber gives him, he plans on sticking around until the man is better,
Taber does not want Deacons help, He thinks Deacon is nothing but a prankster, and will play tricks on him the whole time, All he wants, is to do his therapy and get better, Having Deacon there will only slow his process down, when the man wont let him over work his body, Deacon on the other hand, likes Taber, and wants to help him,
Deacon just recently split with his boyfriend, when he found him cheating on him, After spending some time with Taber, hes starting to see that its not just friendship he feels for the bossy man, Once, Taber stows the attitude, he starts to see that he really likes Deacon to, Once the walls start coming down, the two of them glide into an easy friendship that turns to something more,
Another win for the Firehouseseries, I have been reading this series since the author released bookand have loved every minute of it, We get to see, Taber finally coming to grips with what happened to him, and how it doesnt define who he is, or what he can do.
He starts to see that hes not some helpless person, that his friends feel sorry for, but a person that his friends love and care about.
The relationship between the two MC was sweet and funny, And lets not forget the sexual tension between them, WOW! It was also nice to revisit the other guys from the previous books, I never tire of finding out how the others are doing, I highly recommend this book, It was fun, sweet, and sexy, Just what I like in my stories, I can hardly wait to see who she writes about next, This was another awesome addition to this series, I really liked Taber and Deacon, . . I felt for Taber too, what that must be like to be something and then not be able to be that anymore, I can't imagine how hard for him, . . He said something about wow how big of a D he was being, but, . . I didn't think he was at all, . I mean he got a little snarky with Deacon a time or two, but for a paralyzed man who told he'd never be a firefighter again, I think he handled the whole thing pretty well.
And Deacon, he was so patient and understanding he knew when to help and when Taber needed to do something on his own, . . he didn't take his crap and he called him on it when he needed to, . He was pretty great. .
I'm really looking forward to Wren getting a book, I hope he and Aaron can stop annoying each other and make a go of something.
. .
Overall this was anotherstar for me, they were hot together and it was believable, . . When's the next one :D Deacon has been there for Tabor since his accident and knows he needs someone that wont back down to him yet knows when to let him be himself.
After several failed attempts with caregivers Deacon steps in,
Taber begins to see a side of Deacon no others have and he finds it harder and harder to resist the mans help,
What can be hotter than sexy firemen, and EMTs I cant think of much, Especially when one fireman is a disabled, stubborn hunk and the EMT is determined to make him his, Oh and toss in some powdered sugar to make even hotter!
This is bookof the Firehouseseries and it can be read alone though I think you would have a better understanding of the characters if you have read at least book three.
Its an awesome series and full of steaming hot firemen and paramedics so why to read them all,
I love all the characters in this series but I think Tabor is one of my favorites, He has been through
so much and is determined to not be catered to or waited on, Yet he has a vulnerability of not wanting to be seen in his current state, He is a very relatable character, I also like Deacon with his nerdy side and determination to win the big man over,
If you like firemen, men in uniforms, men with handicaps, nerdy men, artistic men and some smoking hot mansex this is for you.
A good story about learning to heal and trust,
I enjoyed Taber and Deacon, I liked their banter and humour together, not to mention their hotness! Phew! I need Aaron's story, . . like now lolStars

I love to revisit the other men in this series, and so it was really nice to see them and to catch glimpses of how their lives and relationships were developing.
Taber is learning how to adapt to his new life, and he is understandably having a hard time adjusting, When Deacon stays with him to help him through some of the process, Taber thinks Deacon is just a big joker, and yet as time goes on, Taber learns more about the man behind the jokes.
Deacon uses humor to deflect too much attention away from himself, and he hides his own insecurities behind a smile and a quip.
I loved watching both men realize that the other found something desirable in him despite his own personal hang ups, I loved watching Taber find the man that Deacon tried to keep hidden,
This is a sexy story filled with humor and warmth, and even though Taber's struggles are real, he never spiraled into self pity.
Both men have a core of strength that made them even more relatable and lovable,
This is an excellent companion to the Firehouse Six series, and after we learn a little bit more about the goals of this house, I am looking forward to more men, more muscles, and more love!
While I did enjoy thisth tale in the sitelinkFirehouseseries, I didn't love it.
The chemistry between MC Taber and MC Deacon seemed nonexistent and then finally forced, The sex wasn't nearly as hot as it has been in the other books in the series and Taber definitely seemed much more about the physical than the emotional almost until the end.
Also, since Taber's accident happened in an earlier book, there were no actual firefighter scenes to drool at,
While I can absolutely recommend this book for the firefighter junkies like me the book would beif it weren't FF related those that can take or leave firefighters can safely give this one a pass.
There are sitelinkmany, sitelinkmany sitelinkother new sitelinkbooks sitelinkout sitelinkright sitelinknow with more steam, hurt/healing/comfort and romance.
Driven By Fire is Bookin The Firehouse Six Series written by: Draven ST, James.
I'll start by saying that I'm totally addicted to this series each time saying "This is my favorite book" Well!! Here I go again this is definitely my favorite in this series we get to witness so many different emotions in here.
We start off with Taber who was seriously injured in a fire and now he has to try to face the fact he will never again be able to fight fires or possibly walk again.
Does this slow him down you ask, Absolutely NOT.
Taber is so determined to work hard, sometimes too much to be as independent as can be,
In comes Deacon, he is funny quick witted and determined to step in and help Taber with his rehabilitation, Deacon moves in with Taber to help him but is not easily transitioned at first being that many caregivers were pushed away with Taber's moodiness.
Both men are stubborn and will stop at nothing to get what they want,
We learn that both men have pasts that they work hard to hide, that is until Taber starts stripping layers upon layers to expose the real reason behind Deacon's fun, always joking personality.
Things change quickly and Wow it gets pretty Hot, the chemistry between these two men scorching leaving for one wild ride,
I loved the fact that we got to revisit with previous characters and were able to see how their relationships progressed, and also guess on new characters and who will be the next spotlight.
Tabor and Deacon's journey is not an easy one but its so worth experiencing it with them that you actually feel like you are along for the ride.
I highly recommend this Scorching Five Star Read and can't wait to see whose book is next, .
