However, this book lacks highly in insightful observations or personal viewpoints which are to be expected from a finetuned history book.
Actually it is as much drab as history can get, Had been reading this on and off for months and was so glad that I did.
Even though my parents are from India and I am of South Asian descent I never felt like I had a good handle on Indias history going back to ancient times and this book was a really amazing place to start.


Its meant for “children” according to the subtitle, but it really is quite wordy and mature for a children, if you ask me.
I found it a good place to start as an adult, I cant imagine a child understanding a lot of the concepts mentioned.
So I would recommend it teens and older as a starting point, but not for children at all.
This book took me full twelve days to finish

But I look back at it with no regrets.
